Salvage the forgotten knee pads and helmet from the back of the cupboard and get your mini adrenaline junkies over to Revolution Skatepark for their fantastic summer camp. Kids of all skateboard and scooter levels can burn some pent up energy while having a great time. Instructors will be at hand to teach some basic tips, new techniques and even some tricks. The whole experience will focus on having fun as your mini muddies can participate in games, give-aways and Star Wars themed fancy dress on Friday. Bring your packed lunch and any equipment you have. Equipment will be available to hire onsite. This sounds fun!

Art in the Garden, Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, Sevenoaks, Wed 27 Jul – Sun 31 Jul
Get your creative juices flowing and watch professional artists make beautiful works of art while in the fabulous setting of Riverhill Gardens. The work that the artists generate throughout the event will be displayed in an exhibition for all to admire in the Riverhill Garden Room. Adults and children will also have the chance to ‘have a go’ at landscape painting with guidance from resident experts. This is a great hands-on event for any art lovers (kids and adults).

The Rocky Horror Show, The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, Mon 1 Aug – Sat 6 Aug
The cult rock and roll musical is on a nationwide tour and stopping off in Canterbury for 6 nights of debauched entertainment. The musical tells the story of fiancées Brad and Janet who run into car trouble and seek help from the closest house they find, this being mad scientist, Dr Frank’n’furter’s. If you’ve never seen the classic 1975 film, from this point the story descends into a chaotic sequence of whacky events that (for anyone with a nervous disposition) may include some naughty moments. I’m sure you can cope! This is guaranteed to be a fantastically vibrant show full of some timeless classics you are sure to recognize including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet and of course, Time Warp. Get your ticket before they sell out!

Chilled in a Field, The Hop Farm, Tonbridge, Fri 29 Jul – Sun 31 Jul
This sounds like a great local festival that you and your mini muddies can thoroughly enjoy. Over the three day event there will be an array of live music, fun activities and a great assortment of local food and drink that will keep you amused throughout the day and ready to dance all night (if you can hack it). All the imaginative family activities and workshops available are completely free so you can save your pennies for the local grub and cider at hand. Entertainment will include spirit tasting, puppetry shows, glitter wrestling, hula hooping, science activities and festival field, Wonderland will have a variety of silly games and creative activities for your little ones to enjoy. This year the organisers are encouraging everyone to dress theatrically so don’t forget to pack the glitter, wigs, wings and crazy props! Family Pond Dipping, Tyland Barn, Maidstone, Tue 2 Aug
What creatures can you find lurking beneath the surface of Tyland Barn’s pond? This is a lovely event for any inquisitive young muddies who love discovering new things in nature. In the hour long session your family can catch and identify creatures from the pond and get up close by viewing what you’ve found through a microscope. Each child will also be given their own spot sheet that they can take home. Pond dipping is great fun and a perfect opportunity for your children to learn about local wildlife. Reserve you’re place to avoid disappointment but check online as there are other pond dipping events running in different locations around Kent this summer.
