Wrap up warm for Faversham’s Christmas lights switch on with a difference! Following the town’s switch on by Father Christmas and friends, the town will host another of its famous night food markets. The night market will be offering plenty of delectable goodies from local food and drink producers and an assortment of musical entertainment that’ll keep you dancing into the night.

Over 50 stalls will take over the historic rooms of Chiddingstone Castle this Saturday for a festive shopping experience not to be missed! Chiddingstone’s annual Christmas fair is the perfect opportunity to scout out unique Christmas gifts from a massive selection of local producers. Amongst the boutique and artisan goodies on offer there will be vintage wares, home accessories, jewellery, locally sourced food and drinks and children’s clothes. Visitors will also be treated to some warming mulled wine and mince pies to get you feeling especially festive. There really is something for everyone so save the date in your diary!

Tenterden High Street is set to be transformed into a winter wonderland this weekend signalling the beginning of the festive season. The traditional Christmas Market will return to the high street offering fantastic gifts, crafts, street food and local artisan food (time to scout out the perfect Christmas pud!). Carol singers and street entertainment will keep everyone feeling jolly and The Woolpack Hotel will also be opening their Winter Garden complete with Santa’s grotto and seasonal market selling gifts and vintage brocante. Ditch the mass produced Christmas decorations this year and head to Bore Place to make your own natural creations to add a unique look to your home this Christmas. You will be using locally grown willow and hedgerow as base materials to create your own Christmas tree decorations, wall hangings and wreaths. This lovely workshop run by Underwoodsman at Bore Place, John Waller, is a perfect creative day out for the whole family.

Leeds Castle Cyclo Cross, Leeds Castle, Maidstone, Sun 27 Nov

Enjoy your Sunday walk in Leeds Castle and spectate and learn about the growing cross country sport of Cyclo Cross. Between 300 and 400 riders of all ages will be taking part in the race put on by The London cross league. The adrenaline-inducing course will feature obstacles such as ‘the joust’, ‘scale the defences’ and ‘the moat’. This is a great event for any sports lovers who’d love to add a bit of excitement to their Sunday mornings.
