Glitter, sequins and PVA at the ready! If you fancy creating some glitzy decorations to adorn your annual Christmas tree pop into Knole’s new Hayloft Learning Centre for a fun family workshop that’ll have you creating some stunning sequined baubles. All materials will be supplied and children must be accompanies by an adult. Booking online or via phone is essential to avoid disappointment.

Groombridge Place is sparkling with Christmas activities to keep the mini muddies entertained this Christmas. Visitors are invited to join the elves on a Treasure Hunt to find Jack Frost, write letters to Father Christmas and make Reindeer food in preparation for their much anticipated visit on Christmas Eve. Visits to Father Christmas in his magical grotto can be arranged and The Elves workshop will also be open to anyone who’d like to decorate gingerbread to take home. Festive stalls will also be open to visitors selling refreshments and Christmas gifts.

The Hazlitt Youth Theatre will be showcasing the new production of the classic story of The Grinch. With Christmas just around the corner the residents of Whoville are abuzz with excitement as they prepare for their favourite time of year. Will the grumpy and anti-holiday spirited Grinch spoil their celebrations this year or learn a valuable lesson about the holiday after meeting one of the town’s youngest residents? Get your tickets for The Grinch if you fancy catching a festive production slightly different to the great Pantos that are onstage in Kent this season!

Ice Skating, Port Lympne, Hythe, Thu 15 Dec – Mon 9 Jan

Get your skates on and head to Port Lympne for a fun family day out meeting the parks resident animals and trying out at the new open air ice rink. The rink will be open every day except Christmas so there is plenty of time to show off your skills on the ice. Get to the park before 2:30m to get a 45 minute skating session included in the price of entry to the reserve.

Enjoy a magical woodland walk around the grounds of Scotney Castle this festive season! The specially organised family trail is the perfect excursion for anyone who appreciates the beautiful Kent countryside. End the trail by making a wish at the castle tree and creating a seasonal decoration to take home. Remember to wrap up warm and grab those willies in case the weather looks gloomy.
