Get your Mothering Sunday Sorted!

9 Mar 2017

Everywhere gets so darn booked up for Mothering Sunday – as you’ll know, if you’ve ever spent the week before desperately trying to nab a restaurant reservation only to find it’s Burger King or bust. So in the interests of being super-organized, we’ve decided to get in there early this year with our guide to what to do with your mother – or your children – on Sunday 26 March (I can think of a few suggestions that aren’t quite in keeping with the spirit of the day, but let’s leave that there).

Mr Darcy Loses The Plot at Theatre Royal Margate, Wed 8 March

Jane Austen sits writing, her quill scurrying across the parchment. She is dreaming up Darcy, a proud, lip curling, handsome creation in *very* tight pants. But then a door squeaks, a visitor approaches and Jane hastily hides her work. Now left to his own devices, Darcy embroiders his own storyline whilst his creator stitches her quilt. When Jane returns she finds the plot has moved on and Darcy is dancing to a different tune.

Your SS17 style: SORTED

6 Mar 2017

With London Fashion Week giving a serious nod to all things hyper-feminine I’ve asked Sarah Gillmore one of my fave local stylists for her top tips on realistic and practical ways we can work the SS17 obsession with big sleeves, florals and ruffles into our wardrobe. Luckily, Sarah says, there’s lots of ways we can incorporate femininity fash without the need for flouncy dresses and skirts (I’m more of a jeans and pumps kinda girl).

Can YOU guess the price…?

1 Mar 2017

Help! I’m in a love triangle and I just can’t choose between the two. Am I a city girl at heart or a country girl? The cottage in the middle-of-nowhere where I’m currently living has shown me the beauty of space and peace. But I do hanker after, okay not the city, but at least some semblance of civilisation – a bijou boutique or two at the very least.

On yer bike!

1 Mar 2017

Well hellooo there bum cheeks! You made yourselves known after a two-hour bike trail in Bedgebury Pinetum this weekend. Someone get me a bag of frozen peas! Okay, so I’m half joking – we quite enjoy a family bike ride in the Muddy family and obviously I have buns of *cough* steel. But mine had ever so slightly gone into hibernation over the last few months, how about you?
