Why I’m coveting my neighbours kitchen!
I know it’s pretty much a cardinal sin to covet thy neighbours kitchen, but every so often I come across a space so seducing, with such comely cupboards and silkily smooth marble lines that my pulse just starts to race. My head was turned thus when I saw what Traditional Bespoke Furniture had done to transform the kitchens of local friends and business women Rachel & Josie.
Traditional Bespoke Furniture (TBF) was established in 2003 by two craftsmen from the Kent countryside Christopher Lee and Jason Avon. They make dream kitchens a reality from the early conception design stage right through to the final handcrafted finishing touches.
The kitchen in my ‘full of potential’ farm house is at least 30 years past its sell-by-date and boasts the world’s smallest oven – for me looking at these photos is kind of like gawping at Buckingham Palace from a Hackney bedsit. Well, dreaming is free peeps, so please excuse me while I indulge myself…
And TBF don’t just do kitchens. They do bedrooms (fitted wardrobes, walk-in wardrobes…) bathrooms, studies… And it doesn’t have to be a whole room or big design project – understair storage, bathroom cabinets, standalone units, dressers, study furniture and children’s furniture. You name it. But for me right now, it’s all about the kitchen. And in the kitchen it’s all about the island. An island is so functional, so smart, so… homely. Leotard on and watch me gliiiiiide across that glossy surface, weeeeeeeee.
And if *sigh* one day I can ever have the kitchen of my dreams – let it be cool and contemporary farmhouse chic. And a bit pink.
