The Great Illustrator’s Trail, Penshurst Place, Sat 11 Feb

Wander through the beautiful winter gardens and match fantastic illustrations, to the much-loved children’s books they come from. The Close up Magic Show, The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks, 17 Feb

If you’ve got older kids that are into the likes of Dynamo or David Blaine, you could treat them to this show. There’s 3 magicians and 3 tables – so it’s a very intimate evening of close-up magic, trickery and sleight of hand. With performers direct from the sell-out shows at The Magic Circle, a strictly limited audience will get to meet them and probably take part in some of the tricks themselves. Seeing is believing, so they say…

Aubrey Logan, Music Rooms, Pizza Express, Maidstone, Sat 18 Feb

PizzaExpress Live presents more than 1000 shows each year across a number of venues, including Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho and the Music Room in Maidstone (seating is split over two levels, with balcony tables directly overlooking the stage). The Maidstone Music Room showcases a pretty darn high calibre of live music every weekend – such as American pop/jazz singer, Aubrey Logan, above. She’s an award-winning artist who takes a song you’ve heard a thousand times and spins it on its heels – and does one or two of her own too. Live music, food and leather trousers – 3 of my favourite things unite.
