Super news flash!

From cool pop up restaurant to New York boutique at Bluewater - the latest happenings near you

  1. The coolest pop up restaurant of 2018?

What is it about a pop up restaurant that makes them so darn appealing? Is it the ‘in the know’ element, the ‘blink and you’ve missed your chance’ element or the fact that if you add the word ‘pop’ to almost anything it sounds crazy cool? All 3 of the above, I suspect. And no pop up restaurant has intrigued me more than the phantasmagorically cool Night Circus Themed Pop Up Restaurant that’s coming to the East Sutton area for two nights only this Februrary. There’s such an air of eery mystery about the whole thing. All we know is that it will consist of:

  • 4 Course meal made with fine local Kent ingredients
  • Fine local Kent wines and drinks
  • Entertainers and live music
  • Unique Night Circus themed styling

It’s hosted by Home Gurr’own, top local caterers and event planners who always do things with such rustic style that it’s bound to be totally brilliant. TICKETS RELEASED TO PUBLIC ON 1 OCTOBER – write the date down and nab your ticket before they have all gone…

2. New York boutique comes to Bluewater

Consider your Christmas wishlist already sorted this year because kate spade new york, the iconic modern luxury accessory and lifestyle brand, is opening its first standalone store outside London in *insert drum roll here*… Kent’s Bluewater! kate spade new york will open a 1,600 sq ft boutique on the lower Guildhall towards Christmas and will bring you life’s little joys in the form of cute stylish clothing, bags, jewellery and accessories. Yummy.

3. Get your skates on!

For the seventh successive year, the open air Ice-rink is returning to Calverley Grounds, Tunbridge Wells transforming the park into a beautiful winter wonderland. From November 17 until January 1, 2018, you can show off to your friends / humiliate yourself horribly *delete where appropriate* as both beginners and the experienced get the chance to skate in the picturesque Calverley Grounds’ amphitheatre. See you there!

4. Father Christmas tickets – selling out fast!

Don’t shoot me for bringing up the C word so early. But word has reached my shell-like that the hugely popular Father Christmas in Kent experience will be back at Tunbridge Wells Ice-rink for December 2017 – and that tickets are already selling like hot cakes! I know this is a very magical, authentic Father Christmas experience in his cosy, warm log cabin set in the trees & snow. If you’ve got little ones then this is a great Christmasy treat not to be missed.

5. Fancy a lux yoga retreat?

If all that early talk of all things festive has left you needing to destress then read on… This YOGA JAM weekend (Fri 26 – Sun 28 Jan) is run by FLOW, the popular Tunbridge Wells yoga studio, who are now branching out to these amazing weekend retreats. This is the second weekend retreat they’ve run and you can read some of the things that happy, relaxed folk said after the last one here. It’s open to all abilities and is definitely not Boot Camp (a glass of wine if fine they assure me!) Nab your chance for a total change of scene and unwind in early 2018.
