From Secret Super Clubs to Tedx Talks - all the latest happenings you'll want to know about

Curious Eatery Super Club, 2nd June

I’ve heard talk of a new date for the increasingly popular, get-a-ticket-if-you-can Curious Eatery Secret Super Club. More details to come (it really is top secret, I tell you) but I hear the venue will be in East Sutton on 2nd June. Keep your ears peeled for a phone call if you are on the list – for £65 you get a three course meal (you don’t know what you are getting until you are there so any allergies or aversions need to be mentioned when booking) this price includes wine, soft drinks and hot drinks. Guests are free to bring their own spirits or other preferences. Register your interest and get yourself added to the list.

The Wine Sancturay opens at Chapel Down

If you’re into wines, or think you could get into them, (beyond just knowing what the bottom of the bottle looks like) then you’ll love the new wine tasting rooms at Chapel Down Winery. This fabulous facility (the design is super sleek) will be where you taste wines at the end of your Gift Experience Tours – or at various ticketed events that Chapel Down will soon be launching, like Father’s Day Tours, Wine and Food Pairing…you name it… It’s also available for Private Hire Parties (like the Muddy Award Drinks 2017, hello!) or a uber cool 50th, anyone? and would lend itself well to corporate events. Then after you’ve done your wine tasting tour you can pop along to the Bib Gourmand-awarded restaurant, The Swan, on the same site to really round off the day nicely.

Ted Talk, Sat 10 June

Ted Talks, in the form of Tedx-Royal-Tunbridge-Wells, is coming to the Assembly Hall Theatre for the first time. This time we’ll see a range of high profile speakers talking about the theme ‘Discovery’. Speakers range from double gold Olympic winner Dame Kelly to Lance Corporal Cassidy, a former Royal Marine medic, who lost his leg in Afghanistan and shares his story of the challenges he had to overcome. These events are all about getting people talking about stuff that they are passionate about and where they believe they can make a real difference.

New Glamping Site, Broadhembury 1 June

This summer Broadhembury, the popular 5*holiday park near Ashford, is launching a new glamping offering. Check out the beautifully furnished Lotus Belle tent, above. There will be five of these in total – three 3 will be located in the family area and 2 in the Meadows, the adult only area (can I book in here and send my mudlets off to the kids area?!) Each Lotus Belle tent sleeps four, with 1x double bed, 2x single beds, bedding, lighting, electric heating, crockery, cutlery, BBQ utensils, cool box. Outside you have your own covered charcoal BBQ, a picnic table and all-important swing ball (obvs)!

Cider Festival, Tonbridge Old Fire Station, Tonbridge, Thurs 25 – Sun 28 May

With free entry and more than 30 ciders from across Kent & Sussex (as well as further afield) to sample this sounds like yet another cool pop up coming to the revamped fire station venue. There’ll be food by Brisket + Barrel and live music too. Cider is so back in business.
