The Muddy Guide
Snowdrop Walk, Hever Castle, from 11 Feb
For me, there’s nothing that holds more promise than a heavenly carpet of snowdrops… (Well, apart from watching the sunrise from my beach hut in Bora Bora, but you get my drift…) It’s the sign that spring has truly sprung. Visitors can enjoy this magical trail of snowy white bulbs starting to emerge from their winter hibernation, thanks so over 60,000 snowdrop bulbs planted in the Gardens over the past six years. After all that fresh air you’ll want to the Moat Restaurant for a warming drink.
Fifty Shades Darker, The Stag Theatre, 26 Feb
Fancy a night out with the girls? Okay, sure, Fifty Shades Of Grey was not exactly Citizen Kane but I’m not one to pass up an opportunity to see Jamie Dornan’s buttocks under any circumstances. So count me in for this sequel, adapted from the second book in EL James’ bestselling erotic fiction trilogy. Word of warning – a friend of mine took her husband to see the first film and the poor man was the only bloke in the cinema amid a gaggle of giggling women, so this is definitely a girl gang thing.
OKA, Interior Design Workshop, Hoopers, Tunbridge Wells, Tues 28 Feb
OKA are running Interior Design Workshop at their OKA concession in Hoopers Department store, Tunbridge Wells. It’ll take the form of a relaxed coffee morning where customers will be able to meet our Interior Designers and get some top tips for updating their home for the season.

The Full Monty, Marlowe Theatre, Mon 20 – Sat 25 Feb
The iconic film about six unemployed steel workers who decide to form a male striptease act has been adapted for stage by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy (the genius behind Slumdog Millionaire) and is currently touring the UK. The star spangled cast includes Gary Lucy, (oh come on – we all remember Footballers’ Wives!) Andrew Dunn, Chris Fountain and Louis Emerick. And, in answer to your question, yes apparently they *really* do!
Penshurst Choral Society Concert, 25 Feb
If you’re in need of something terribly grown up after Half Term shenanigans then this ought to do it. Haydn’s Te Deum No 2 in C major, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 3 in C minor – you know that sort of thing. Conducted by Anthony Zerpa Falcon and it’s taking place at Jubilee Hall, Holmewood House School, Langton Green.
Weekend Yoga Retreat, Oxon Hoath, 24 Feb
Need to get away from it all? This YOGA JAM weekend comes to you curtesy of FLOW, the popular Tunbridge Wells yoga studio. Now they’re branching out to these amazing weekend retreats. Celebrating the practices of Yoga, Meditation, Applied Anatomy, Deep Dance, Pranayama and even Gong Baths! It’s open to all abilities and is definitely not Boot Camp and a glass of wine if fine too they assure me! It’s just about having a change of scene, totally unwinding and having someone else cook the (no doubt fairly healthy) food for a change. Book your place now to secure one of the last spaces remaining.
