Boat Jumble, The Hop Farm,  Sun 5 Mar

Looking for a new hobby ready for the summer? Or, er, just want to get the man in your life out the house for a few box-set-catch-up hours? The hop farm are holding a giant boat jumble. Yes… a jumble sale… for boats.  Stall holders will be selling everything from kayaks to dinghies and from wet suits to fishing reels. Timings: 10:00 – 15:00

Fantastic Mr Fox, The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, Tue 28 Feb – Sun 5 Mar

This is my son’s favourite of all the Roald Dahl stories and now this heart-warming and fun classic touring it’s got to be worth catching (no intended)… Mr Fox is smart, clever and rather fantastic, but he doesn’t realise how determined the farmers are to get revenge. Can he hatch a plan to save his family and friends? Can they outrun the diggers and outsmart the farmers? And can Rabbit shut up long enough not to give the game away? Catch him if you can!

Entangled: Threads and Making, Turner Contemporary, Margate, Sat 28 Jan – Sun 7 May

Fancy a cultural trip to the coast? The Turner Contemporary has launched a major exhibition of sculpture, installation, tapestry, textiles and jewellery from the early 20th century to the present day. It features over 40 international female artists who take the traditional arts of knitting and embroidery, weaving, sewing and wood carving to a whole new and imaginative level.

La La Land, Trinity Theatre, Sun 5 Mar

Ryan Gosling – that’s all you need to know. What, you want more? OK, it’s a musical that even musical-haters will like, last week it won the most ever Golden Globes won by a single film (seven), and well there was that Oscars controversy too. It’s set in modern day LA, and it involves Emma Stone’s waitress character falling in love with Gosling’s jazz pianist. Well, who wouldn’t.

Chris Ramsey, The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, Sat 4 Mar

A brand new stand up show for 2017 from the comedian you’ve seen on The Chris Ramsey Show (Comedy Central), Virtually Famous (E4), I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp (ITV 2), Celebrity Juice, League Of Their Own and various newspapers when he was wrongly arrested in a hotel in his underpants!

I know, I know, yes, we’re already thinking about Easter (sunny spring mornings and chocolate, why wouldn’t we?) and this is definitely one to book ahead to give us those sweet treats to look forward to. Flossie Pops Cakes always do brilliant workshops – for adults and kids – they sell out fast so book up quick!

Easter cupcake workshop for kids is on Wednesday 12th April 10-12.30. Adult spring cupcake workshop is on Monday 24th April, from 10-1pm. More details and booking available at
