Mr Darcy Loses The Plot at Theatre Royal Margate, Wed 8 March

Jane Austen sits writing, her quill scurrying across the parchment. She is dreaming up Darcy, a proud, lip curling, handsome creation in *very* tight pants. But then a door squeaks, a visitor approaches and Jane hastily hides her work. Now left to his own devices, Darcy embroiders his own storyline whilst his creator stitches her quilt. When Jane returns she finds the plot has moved on and Darcy is dancing to a different tune.

Cinderella performed by the Vienna Festival Ballet, Folkestone, Thurs 9 March

Vienna Festival Ballet is coming to the Leas Cliff Halls, Folkestone – a unique venue with views across the English Channel. This is an easy-on-the-eye, exciting and fast paced performance of this much-loved rags-to-riches fairy tale.

Noel & Gertie,Trinity Theatre, Fri 10 March

An on-stage, live adaptation of this warm and witty musical comedy based on the legendary friendship and professional collaboration of actor, playwright and songwriter Noel Coward and the alluring and charismatic actress Gertie Lawrence. Bring the tissues, this is essentially a love story devised by Sheridan Morley from the letters and diaries of two of the best-loved performers of the 20th century. Starts at 7.30pm.

Women Work, Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall Theatres, Friday 10 March

British Science Week Leeds Castle, Friday 10 March – Sunday 19th March

Want to get the kids in the fresh air and get there brains ticking this weekend well Leeds Castle is supporting British Science Week with a trail through the grounds, available to pick up on arrival. The main purpose of British Science Week is to inspire and facilitate a grassroots celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths featuring events and activities all around the UK.

The Royal Tunbridge Wells Variety Performance, Assembly Hall Theatre, Sun 12 Mar

Fancy a look at our local, home grown talent? From 1.30pm it’s the turn of the Under 11s – as young musicians, singers, ballerinas, street dancers are among the mix young performers who will entertain the audience in the inaugural Royal Tunbridge Wells Variety Performance. Then from 5pm the Over 11 stars of the future get their turn to sparkle on stage.


Tom Jones Comes To Kent, The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence , Saturday 8 July
