The Muddy Guide: Thurs 21 – Weds 27 Apr

Golf Like A Girl, Game On event at Hever Castle Golf Club, Kent, 27 Apr

2007_03_17_11_50_18

Sometimes I’ve been tempted to give golf a try – quite like the idea of thwacking 50 balls down a driving range… If you’re curious like me, but don’t know your Birdie from your Bogey then Golf Like A Girl’s introductory sessions would be the perfect starting point – and these relaxed gatherings take place in the castle grounds. Golf, socialising and lunch! All equipment is included.

Spring Forage, Belmont House & Gardens, Faverham, Thu 21 Apr

untitled

Foraging is officially cool – a manageable tippy-toe in the water of sustainability – and fun in a bargain hunting in the sunshine kind of way. Learn plant identification techniques, foraging laws, what to avoid (er, crucial, there’s a mushroom that should never be eaten with wine!) and an introduction to fire lighting. After a day of foraging you can try your hand at campfire cooking and try the ingredients you have gathered during the expedition.

10am-4pm. Course costs £40 pp. Belmont, Belmont Park, Throwley, nr. Faversham, Kent, ME13 0HH, Tel: 01795 890228, belmont-house.org

230d619b-1af6-434f-a14c-723a61b91c44

This is totally original piece of theatre – an audience participation game that explores the question of how money challenges people’s ability to work together. The premise is to contribute money and then decide as a group how it should be spent. You can either be a benefactor, paying £10-£1000 or a silent witness who watches as the benefactors spend 2 hours coming to a unanimous decision. If no decision is made the money is transferred to the next event.

5pm/8pm. Silent witness tickets £12, Benefactor £10 – £1,000. Box Office: 01303760750, Quarterhouse, Mill Bay, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 1BN, quarterhouse.co.uk
