My fabulous, finger-on-the-pulse colleague Muddy Berks gave me the heads up on this one and I couldn’t wait to tell you about it. Having been at the forefront of fashion, beauty and portrait photography since its launch in 1916, British Vogue has an enviable and unrivalled archive of outstanding imagery. The exhibition features nearly 300 prints from their collection, with images from some of the best photographers in the business including rarely seen photos of The Beatles, Kate Moss and Jude Law. 100 years of glamour, style and celebrity icons in one room! Tickets £17 and booking is recommended.

Clean for The Queen, (C4Q) events all around Kent, 4 Mar – 6 Mar

71KUnfpdhJL__SL1500_RESIZEDWith the hook that the Queen’s 90th birthday is coming up this campaign is really a national litter cleanup incentive and I think it’s great. There’re loads happening all round the country next weekend – so this is a heads up so you have time to find out what’s going on near you. The thinking is that cleaning the hedgerows is easier now before it all grows back in the summer. This campaign – which has now gone nationwide – was started by one mum from Kent (Horsmonden to be precise).

Visit cleanforthequeen.co.uk to find a clean up event near you. Horsmonden Parish Council, community clean-up event, Sat March 5, at 10 am kicking off at the Social Club where the WI has kindly agreed to provide tea and cakes (now there is an incentive!)

Annie, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, Tues 1  Mar – Sat 5 Mar

annie-theatre-review-uk-tour-3resized

You really can’t ‘hard’ knock Annie as a family musical. It’s got it all – a fabulous lead character we love to hate, great songs and, most importantly, a dog on stage! And with Lesley Joseph taking over as Miss Hannigan there’s bound to be some really funny bits as well as lots of high leg kicks (seriously, have you seen what great shape she’s in?) I checked with the box office and there’s still a few tickets left. I’m definitely in – I think I’m Gonna Like it Here! And I think you’d be mad to miss it.

Performances Tue, Wed, Thu & Sat 7.30pm, Fri 8pm, Wed & Sat matinee 2.30pm. All tickets £28.50, assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk

Cheese, Beer & Cider with William Cohen, The Old Fire Station, Tonbridge, Thurs 17 Mar

Fire station

Cheese and wine? That’s so last year. Apparently. An early heads up on this one as you’ll need to book in advance. With over 25 years of experience in the cheese industry, William will choose 5 British cheeses and match them with beers and cider also from England and mostly the South East. There’s also two brewers booked to talk you through their drinks chosen by William. So that’s 4 Speakers, 5 cheeses, 5 beers and 5 ciders. I think you’ll want to book a cab!

The Old Fire Station, Tonbridge, Starts at 7pm, all tickets £25
