The spectacular open air classical concert returns to Leeds Castle for another year, held in the natural amphitheatre in front of the castle. There will be music from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Definitive Rat Pack (you know, guys in suits doing brilliant interpretations of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr)… Aled Jones (MBE) will host and as always the evening finishes with a spectacular fireworks display. Not to be missed.

The annual County Show is an event for farming, countryside and rural life. The three day event is a showcase of the very best of Kent and a perfect go-to for the whole family (lots of entertainment and food). This year there’ll be 400 exhibitors and trade stands but also 300 competitions and activities, including flower and woodland craft workshops, cookery demonstrations and plenty of live music.

Jazz on the Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells, Thu 7 Jul

The Pantiles will host its annual live jazz event every Thursday until the 29th September. I visited the event last week and had such a fab time I thought I must add it to this week’s guide. Sup on your beer/cider/wine (whatever your tipple) from any of the surrounding pubs or bars while the bandstand plays live jazz music.

The Changeling Theatre Company returns to Belmont House to perform an outdoor performance of Shakespeare’s ‘All’s Well That Ends Well’. Watch the classic story of lovers Helena and Bertram and the quest that Helena undertakes to win her man when he goes to the French court to fight. You got that? Right. Bring your own rugs and seating.

National Garden Scheme Open Day, Quex Park, Birchington, Sun 10 Jul

If you love gardening or think your garden may need some TLC, pop over to Quex Park this Sunday as the Head Gardener will be on hand offering tours and answering questions on anything green. Get some inspiration while the garden is in full bloom and view over 10 acres of beautiful woodland and gardens. Plenty to view, including spring bulbs, wisteria, the Victorian cucumber house, cactus house, fruiting trees and Peacocks. Take the woodland walk and visit the picnic grove for a spot of lunch if you fancy it.

The Central School of Ballet is putting on an exciting programme of ballet, neoclassical, contemporary and narrative dance. This family friendly show is ideal for any young dance lovers who may be new to ballet and want inspiration to give dance a go.
