Halloween may be over but Margate’s Theatre Royal is gearing up for a brand new production based on Mary Shelley’s classic horror story. Blackeyed Theatre will be performing an exciting new adaption of Frankenstein combining live music, puppetry and visually beautiful theatricality to create a fresh and exciting production. The Railway Children tells the story of an affluent Edwardian family who move to a small village in Yorkshire following their father’s wrongful arrest. The children Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis find solace after the upsetting upheaval at the local train station and meet railway porter Perks who helps them to discover the mystery surrounding their father’s departure. E.Nesbitt’s classic children’s story has been perfectly adapted for stage by Mike Kenny and promises to be a fantastic production that the whole family will enjoy.

The Christmas Collective is organised by indie giftware retailers – Emma from Little Mole Boutique, Emma from ‘Peas-in-a-Pod’ and Zoe from Ollie and Roo – and promises to be a stylish evening of shopping, sipping and socialising. These are all lovely local women who make stylish, affordable goodies (there’ll be 13 hand-picked Christmas collections from fab local businesses in total) and this pop up provides the perfect opportunity to kick start your Chrimbo shopping. Even better the proceeds from the £2 entry fee and raffle will all go to the Pickering Cancer Smile Fund. I’m in!
