The Historic Dockyard is hosting a fabulous event that can be enjoyed by all ages celebrating 1940’s lifestyle. Get into the vintage spirit and experience a variety of retro inspired entertainment including live music, vintage vehicle displays, theatrical re-enactments, 40’s inspired dress up, traditional traders and World War II inspired experiences. This fun packed weekend must not be missed!

Britain’s Got Talent Auditions, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, Fri 16 Sep


Are your dance moves as smooth as Diversity? Do you have a set of lungs to rival Subo? Get ready to be discovered and showcase your unique skills in auditions for the nations favourite talent show. The show is open to all ages, talents and skills so don’t miss out on possibly being the star of the 2017 show and the unbelievable chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance for the Queen.

Silver Fun Run, Knole Park, Sevenoaks, Sun 18 Sep


Whether you want to walk, run (or even hop, skip and jump) the Silver Fun Run organised by the Hospices of Hope is an amazing opportunity to raise money for children and adults suffering from terminal and life-limiting illnesses. Add a flash of silver to your outfit to show you’re support for the cause (there’s sure to be a bit of glitz in everyone’s wardrobe). There’s no pressure during this event as all ages are welcome and participants can race at whatever speed and distance they feel comfortable.

Russel Kane Stand Up, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, Sat 17 Sep


Be prepared for a side splittingly funny performance from a multi award winning TV veteran who’s fantastic wit has meant he has become a well known personality in the stand up and presenting world. In his new show Right Man, Wrong Age Kane will tackle the issue of how people deal with the often unnerving reality of aging and how “no one is ever the ‘right’ age”. His fantastic comedy style has meant he has not only won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2010 but has also been featured in an array of presenting roles, panel show appearances and televised stand up performances. There are very limited tickets available so get them before they go!

The Close-Up Magic Show, Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks, Fri 16 Sep

Faversham Food Festival, Faversham Town, Thu 15 Sep – Sun 18 Sep


If you’re a fan of food and fancy discovering new tastes and produce, treat yourself to an event this weekend that will leave your mouth watering and taste buds tingling. Head to Faversham this weekend for their amazingly popular annual food festival that guarantees to have all foodies entertained. A fantastic array of food and drink will be on offer throughout the weekend including fresh fish, Kentish ales and cider and hop infused ice cream. Cooking demonstrations will also run during the three day event that can help you to cook like a pro. My mini muddies *love* the Jim Carrey film version so I will definitely take them to this production – watch out for my review on opening night! Painter and decorator by day, Mr Popper spends his time dreaming of Antarctic adventures. He is astounded when one day a packing crate arrives on his doorstep, out of which waddles a penguin! Squawk! (That’s penguin for ‘Exciting’!)
