This event is the perfect opportunity to delve into the mind of one of the world’s most renowned specialists in mind control and psychological manipulation. Derren Brown will be heading to Tunbridge Wells with his new show talking about happiness, the subject of his new book, Happy. Different to his usual style, this show will have no tricks as Derren will be talking about how although there may not be an easy secret to happiness, there are ‘strategies and ways of thinking that encourage a more considered and flourishing life’.

Hever Castle Triathlon, Hever Castle, Edenbridge, Sat 24 Sep – Sun 25 Sep


This year’s Hever Castle Triathlon is back with a vengeance as the races open with this spectacular 38 acre event at Hever Castle Lake and River Eden. Athletes take to the circuits and navigate through the award-winning castle grounds before the entrants make a dash for the finishing line. In just seven years, the Triathlon has established itself as the destination for international triathletes with over 850 entrants currently signed for this perfect autumn September day.

Indulgent Chocoholics, Bore Place, Chiddingstone, Thu 22 Sep


If you’re a chocaholic (guilty) and fancy whipping up your own concoctions to take home this workshop is definitely for you! The workshop will give you some great cooking tips and have you tasting and cooking some unusual flavour combinations. You’ll be making chocolate cake, chocolate truffles, chocolate profiteroles and chocolate chip cookies. A healthy and chocolate free lunch will also be provided (if you can fit it in).

Broadstairs Barndance, The Memorial Hall, St Peters, Sat 24 Sep


Grab a partner and do-si-do over to Broadstairs for a fun and energetic evening of barn dancing. One of Southern England’s top dance bands Contraband who’ve been performing since 1978 will be playing a mixture of Scottish, English, Irish and American styles of music. There’s no need to know your dance steps, as there is a teacher at hand to make sure you don’t get lost.

Festival of Flowers, Leeds, Castle, Maidstone, Sat 24 Sep – Wed 28 Sep


If you’re a fan of everything to do with flowers head to Leeds Castle and see the rooms adorned with beautiful floral creations with the theme of ‘A Queen’s Castle’.  English garden designer Joe Swift will open the event with a special guest talk at 3:30pm. International award winning floral designers will host an assortment of floral demonstrations and specialist talks throughout the weekend from Hans Haverkam and Dennis Kneepkens. Tours of the formal gardens will also take place during the event for any budding florist or flower lover.

Southbeats Festival, Quex Park Estate, Birchington, Sat 24 Sep


Southbeats Festival is a new one day festival showcasing the worlds best music and DJ acts including Chase and Status, Fatman Scoop, Jaguar Skills, Lethal Bizzle, Kano and Wilkinson (I’ve *cough* heard of them all obvs). Over 10,000 festival fans will be heading to Quex Park to say goodbye to 2016’s festival season for an evening of the best garage, house, drum & bass and urban.

Create your own Cake Stand, This Art Of Mine, Maidstone


This Art of Mine is a fantastic studio that runs an assortment of art workshops for both children and adults. So if you love getting arty and crafty and have been getting into the cake making spirit (Bake Off is back on our screens after all) this is the perfect workshop for you. During the morning workshop you will be using a selection of tools, stamps and stencils to design and paint your very own professional looking cake stand. Your piece will be fired in the studio ready for collection in a week. Better get baking!
