Riverhill Himalayan Gardens
Muddy says: We love this fun and imaginative family day out – perfect if you’re in the Sevenoaks area and looking for a smaller, boutique day trip with a garden, café and shop…
Conveniently located just outside Sevenoaks (you may have whizzed past it on the A21) we can highly recommend paying a visit to Riverhill Himalayan Gardens – a smaller, boutique family day out with a garden café and shop.
Now open for the spring/summer season (as of 16th March 2018) we love this place because when they put on events they do it so well – and they are one of the most imaginative gardens you’ll visit. You’ll discover world-class British sculpture, learn about Riverhill’s fascinating history, (with its links to Darwin and the Great Plant Hunters). Build dens together, discover secret pathways and incredible views and perhaps even spot the elusive Yeti! Yup, that’s right, yeti (it’s a theme here). Well, with the Himalayan connection how could they not? My mudlets love it!
Once you’ve worked up an appetite in the gardens, be sure to visit the pretty Riverhill Café. Perfect for morning coffee, a delicious lunch or an indulgent afternoon tea in gorgeous surroundings. All of the food is home-made and ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible. There is no admission charge for visitors simply visiting The Riverhill Café or stocking up on gifts or plants from The Riverhill Shop.
Check out what activities are on in the school holidays and half term as they tend to do well-thought through fun activities for all ages.
