Kent’s best ice cream

Cool off with our sweet picks! Refresh with the best ice cream made here in our fair county.

If you’re treating yourself to this summertime favourite why not opt for a locally-produced Kentish brand – we’ve got some corkers made by artisan ice-cream makers right here on our doorstep. Five-scoops for me please!

Not only is it delicious, but it is 100% natural, containing no artificial additives, colours or stabilisers. Taywell is an artisan producer, all of their ice cream and sorbets are handmade in small batches to ensure everything tastes just right! With over 120 flavours on offer, there’s something for everyone.

Solley’s is the largest independent ice cream maker in the South East, made right here in Kent – Deal to be precise. Supplying to farm shops, restaurants and attractions throughout the county. They produce over 15 flavours on their family farm which has been in the family for over four generations! The milk & cream used in Solley’s Kentish Ice Cream comes from just 1 mile away from the farm, with 85% of their base ingredients sourced locally. They make up to 4,500 litres of ice cream per day – that’s over 650,000 litres each year!

Simply Ice Cream is handmade in small batches in the heart of Kent using only simple, natural and fresh local ingredients. They don’t use artificial colours, additives or preservatives. Owner Sally Newall, mother of four children, qualified cook and successful wedding and party caterer (where does she find the time?!) along with her team produce the range of decadent, luxury ice creams in Ashford using British dairy products, Kentish seasonal fruits and ingredients from top suppliers sourced locally where possible. The result is an award-winning truly unbelievable taste!

And we just had to mention… Morelli’s

In 1932 the first Morelli’s ice cream parlour opened in the beautiful Viking Bay in Broadstairs and it became the first ever to serve over 20 flavours of ice cream! This parlour still proudly serves loyal customers today and retains a magical feel of stepping back in time with its iconic 1950’s flying canopy, Soda Fountain, original Lloyd Loom chairs and pink leatherette parlour seating. Now Morelli’s is open in the Middle East, Monaco, South East Asia, Georgia, Gabon and Mexico! Go for a walk down memory lane and enjoy their beautiful sundaes, soft fresh scoops, milkshakes, crepes and waffles.
