Foodies rejoice!

Fed up with home cooking? Got a special occasion on the horizon? From virtual wine tasting to BBQ Boxes - here's 6 of the best food and drink experiences locally. Napkins at the ready!

Go Greek! Virtual Supper Club, Alive With Flavour, Wed 3 June

Credit: Raw Pixel

Alive with Flavour founder, Jo Banks, is a food presenter, food blogger and organiser of food events – including her highly successful supper clubs on the first Wednesday of every month.

Luckily for us she’s taken the food-experience online, so we can now enjoy the Go Greek! Supper Club (Wed 3 Jun) where you can either join like-minded foodies on a Zoom call and watch whilst Guest Chef, Spence Westcott talk you through the Greek menu for free. Or get the Greek Box delivered to your door so you can actually taste the food as you watch. (I’m up for the latter option here – worth every penny!) The Taste of Greece Box is £16 (includes delivery) and feeds 1.

If you’re interested in joining in the Go Greek! evening or learning about any of Jo’s up-coming Supper Clubs (the next one is American Independence BBQ Theme for July!) email:

Virtual Wine Tasting and £50 OFF offer on Hush Heath Gold Medal Winning Red Wine Case, Fri 22 May

Wine-lovers, ahoy! Pinot’s are the perfect pairing for your meaty BBQ’s and cosy evenings by the fire-pit.

Luckily for us, local wine makers Hush Heath have put together a special mixed case containing a total of six bottles of their two Gold medal award winning red wines for ONLY £145 (normal price is £195) The case contains 3 x Balfour Luke’s Pinot Noir 2018 and 3 x Balfour The Red Miller 2018. (Be quick! This exclusive offer will run until Wed 20 May).

Anyone who orders the case is then invited to a special Tasting Q&A with Hush Heath winemakers, Owen and Fergus Elias, who will introduce the wines and give a background to how they make their red wines at the Winery. The webinar will take place on Fri 22 May at 7pm.

This is the perfect opportunity to try these two exceptional English reds side by side, look at the different qualities and characteristics of each wine and see for yourself why English reds are really something special! Save £50 on your case and get an invite to the tasting here:

The Curious Eatery, BBQ Boxes, delivered every Saturday or available for collection

Get your hands on one of these exceptional boxes from my favorite Kent catering duo – sisters Lesley and chef Nicole – at The Curious Eatery. Just like their award-winning restaurant, everything they touch is stylish simplicity at its best – and these food boxes are no exception. Whether it’s Fish n Chips, called ‘Chippy Friday’ Boxes – or BBQ boxes (delivered every Saturday or available to collect) you can enjoy the delicious dishes they are famous for with very little effort on your behalf (we likey!)

Select which one you want – and with the BBQ boxes (from £30) you can add in extras and make your box totally bespoke to feed the whole family. We had the joy of sampling one of these boxes on the May Bank Holiday weekend – and we’re totally sold. Once a week for Muddy household please! Order yours here.

The Small Holding, Stay at Home Hampers and home-grown vegetable or BBQ boxes

Just because they are closed, doesn’t mean you should miss out on the taste of The Small Holding – winner of Best Restaurant in Kent in the last Muddy Awards. Try one of their mouth-watering Hampers which includes local Cheeses, charcuterie, fresh bread and a bottle of wine.

Or, in typical style, their Weekly Vegetable Boxes (£35) are filled with produce grown on site at The Small Holding farm kitchen celebrating the best of the season with local asparagus, strawberries, beetroot and more…

Lastly, The Small Holding BBQ boxes (£55), suitable for 2-4 people sharing, are now live for order with burgers, sausages and chicken kebabs.

Why not pimp your BBQ Box and add on a beer or bottle of wine from local Kent and Sussex producers including Squerryes, Greensand Ridge, Chapel Down and Long Man Brewery?

Order by 5pm each Wednesday for delivery on Friday or Saturday depending on delivery postcode.

Elite Pubs, Local Food Hampers and Dine In Deals, Local Non-contact collection only

Order online from your favourite Elite Pub (includes The Dirty Habit, The Farm House, The Great House, The Poacher & Partridge, The Potting Shed and The Vineyard).

Choose between their local food hampers, dine-in-deals or order from their menu for Wood-Fired Pizzas and Sunday roasts to starters like Smoked Haddock Fish Cakes and main meals like their Vegan Organic Quinoa Burger. Salivating much?

All orders can be placed online, involve non contact collection only and open Wednesday through to Sunday. Click here for their Takeaway Menu.

The Cocktail Social, Cocktail Mix delivery service

Got a special day coming up? Why not get Cocktails delivered straight to your door? Choose between 7 cocktails; will it be a Mojito, Pornstar Martini or Strawberry Daiquiri. Hell yeah!

For a 500ml Cocktail Mix which serves between 4-5 people it’s £20 (only for delivery to Sevenoaks and surrounding areas). All you need to do is pour a portion of your cocktail mix into a cocktail shaker, add some ice and shake away. Then pour your nice, cold cocktail into a glass and add your favourite garnish. They have a really helpful video on How To Prepare Your Cocktail with options if you don’t have a cocktail shaker! Delivery is free on orders over £35. Order yours online here.

Anna’s suggestion? ‘Make a dhal – my all time favourite vegetarian Indian dish.’ Then she gives a full, easy-to-follow recipe.
