Fashion accessory update
The only fashion accessory you need to update those floral frocks and add some edge to your summer blazer...enter the obi belt from Antoine et Lili
From slogan tees, to kitten heels and flared jeans, fashion is currently chock-full of 90s trends. And now we can add another revival to the list – the wide belt. And we spotted one perfect specimen – a real wardrobe all-rounder when on a recent visit to new Canterbury boutique, Antoine et Lili, a stunning and quirky French fashion label that has launched in the UK with it’s first store perfectly located in the heart of Canterbury’s Cathedral Quarter. Here, take a look at the store, below. It’s well worth a visit – a pink fantasia of fun… We likey!
Anyway, back to the belt! The perfect specimen in question was an obi belt, see below. This versatile accessory, (originally from Japan dontcha know) is sort of a cross between a sash and a wrap belt. It’s very simple to tie and to wear: on a dress, a shirt, a tunic or on trousers. It works especially well this time of year with summer blazers or to update summer dresses.
Made to tuck and tie, pair this belt with your favourite dress, jacket or tee to give you a more defined hour-glass shape. Basically anything that gives the appearance of a clinched waistline gets our vote. It has soon become our new outfit-transforming best friend here at Muddy Kent towers.
