The Light Fantastic

Trip the light fantastic with this neon art pop-up at Selfridges. I want it all. And I want it now!

I’m an absolute sucker for neon art – I love its cheekiness, its vibrancy and its rock’n’roll vibe – so I’m beyond excited to hear of this super-cool new interiors installation and pop-up shop at Selfridges in London. It’s hosted by God’s Own Junkyard, the Walthamstow-based Bracey family business that’s been a long-time magnet for photography, music and fashion types. You’ll have definitely clocked the late Chris Bracey’s works in movies, music videos and magazines and now his sons Matthew and Marcus Bracey have created a collection inspired by their record collections. With Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Elton John among their clients, you’ll certainly be in good company if you invest in a piece. And if that’s a budget-busting impossibility just think of the Instagram opps, right?

Crazy for retro kitsch? Here’s our two favourite Kent-based neon art dealers – to keep the interior-love local!

LOVE INC LTD

Love Inc Ltd, founded by Hannah Gee, was hatched from her love of collecting vintage and retro items to adorn her uber modern abode. Tunbridge Wells-based, this online gift shop has become known for their fun LED neon wall hangings which have been snapped up by Jo Malone, Davina McCall and Sweaty Betty to name but a few…

HOUSE OF NEON

Bring a colour pop into your home, no batteries or electricity needed! Maria is the lovely lady behind House of Neon, mainly sold online and in certain stores. If you’re a lover of all things neon and funky, you can even design own customised print, have your name in lights or your favourite quote.
