Have you been to Betteshanger Park yet? It’s situated between Deal and Sandwich, sitting on open landscape overlooking the Kent coast (on the site of the former Betteshanger Colliery actually). Basically if you want to explore the great outdoors this park is perfect. The 250-acre woodland, grassland and marshland site is a centre for outdoor sporting and adventure activities plus the place to seek out for the best clubs for your kids during half term and holidays.

It is the most important cycling centre in East Kent, with a 3-kilometre road cycling track providing safe, traffic free road cycling facilities, so ideal for families.  There is a further 10 kilometres of mountain bike trails, all of varying difficulty, designed to challenge and excite all levels of cyclist. A range of bicycles and helmets are available for hire.

Other activities at the Park include an outdoor playpark, military fitness, forest school, archery, den building, fossil hunting and geo-caching, plus a range of exciting seasonal stuff. They do a super scary Halloween event and you don’t want to miss The Beast – the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course which always visits in September. Betteshanger Park can be easily reached by the A258 and has ample on-site parking. Out you go!
