Kent’s original vineyard, producing award-winning - and much loved - wines, ciders and juices. Book a Private Tour or pop into the Vineyard Shop and try the Self-Guided Tour instead. A wonderful day out!
THE HEART OF KENT
Kent’s original vineyard, Biddenden, has been owned and managed by the Barnes family since 1969. Today the vineyard is run by the second and third generations of the family, drawing on many years of experience in winemaking at Biddenden.
Originally home to a 40-acre apple orchard, the Barnes family started to diversify the farm in the late 1960s and today the single estate vineyard spans 23 acres and includes 11 different grape varieties all grown to produce their selection of exceptional, award-winning White, Rosé, Red and Sparkling English wines.
You’ll find the vineyard in one of the prettiest corners of England, on gentle south facing slopes situated in a sheltered valley, just outside the picturesque Wealden village of Biddenden.
Why not take yourself on a Self-Guided vineyard tour which takes you on a walk through the vines, giving an insight into the history of the family-run vineyard and the grape varieties they grow. This includes a tasting of a flight of either 3 or 6 wines, and there is no need to pre-book, simply check in and purchase your self-guided pack at the Vineyard Shop on arrival.
For those wishing to learn a little more about Biddenden, you can book on a Private Guided tour which run May-September every Wednesday through to Saturday. For groups of up to 6 people the Private Tours include a vineyard and winery tour followed by tastings with your own personal guide. Private Tours are available by pre-booking here.
The Vineyard Shop is opened throughout the year and fully stocked with their award-winning range of wines, ciders and juices as well as an extensive selection of local and artisan food and drink products, or buy online via their website.
