THE LOCATION

Tucked away on the outskirts of Canterbury in Kent, sits this rather swish hotel. On the top destination list – but not designed solely for – golfers, the Cave is also popular for weddings, girlie weekends and date nights.

THE LOWDOWN

Let’s start with the name. Caves were the original hotels. In our past we used caves for warmth, sanctuary and shelter. In our nomadic lives they gave protection from the elements; sanctums of peace for rest and recuperation. Safe places where we built social bonds, created art and formed our culture.

Today Cave Hotel is a luxury escape that feels instinctively right. Not just a night’s sleep: an atmospheric and inviting experience. Think dark, warm tones throughout – extensive American walnut panelling, textured wall coverings including feature stone walls and sumptuous bespoke furnishings. Low, hygge-style lighting makes it cosy and the slick industrial elements giving a stylish contrast.

SLEEK STAY

The Cave is not a low-key, shabby chic hideaway. The vibe is deliberately dramatic and modern – where gloss, high spec is the method for immersing guests in total luxury during their stay. All rooms come equipped with a super king size bed, scene selection lighting, a 65 inch HD TV, a desk with universal charging points, a rainfall shower and a private terrace or balcony.

WEDDINGS

Cave is perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions in the gorgeous marquee which offers a completely private area for you and your guests. With a contemporary modern feel and atmospheric lighting inside and out, it is perfect for those looking to have up to 100 Guests and 200 Evening Guests. The grounds make for the perfect backdrop for photos, and Cave’s 41 bedroom hotel enables the wedding party to stay the night really making the most of the festivities. GOLF

Set in 167 acres of rolling countryside with the breathtaking backdrop of the magnificent Kentish North Downs, Cave Hotel and stunning 18 Hole Championship Golf Resort is one of the best pay and play golf courses in Kent.

THE FOOD & DRINK

The Firepit is a contemporary, fine dining, sharing-plate experience. The smoky, barbecue aromas of the American west combine with the delicately spiced tastes of the far east to create ambitious dishes that excite the tastebuds and showcase the finest in global cooking. A glossy Firepit bar nestles cosily alongside the first floor restaurant.

Or dine in the Cowgirl restaurant where you’ll discover a unique blend of Texas and Asian, Korean style dishes. They took the best of both sides of the globe to bring you a restaurant that delivers a unique blend of subtlety-spiced oriental cuisine and the big, brash smoked BBQs of the Texas Panhandle. From award winning cherry BBQ St Louis char siu ribs to authentic honey butter fried chicken wings, not forgetting their incredible USDA smoked beef brisket in a salt and pepper rub. Vegetarian, or gluten conscious? They’ve got that covered too.

Sip on one of their signature cocktails before your dinner reservation in The Cowgirl Lounge, right in the heart of Cave. Make mine a K-Pop Martini please…
