Outside there’s a gorgeous garden area, not huge, but a well designed space where you can eat in style on the tables nestled among the plants, with the added benefit of heat lamps and fairy lights for those cooler evenings. Inside reveals 400 years worth of character and charm, log fires and cosy corners.

Nestled in the Garden of England, you’ll find the pub on the corner of the winding road leading into the little village of Chipstead, just outside Sevenoaks. With the benefit of a strong community feel, Chipstead Sailing Lake and wonderful local walks from St Botolph’s Church past Chevening Estate. It’s known locally as the Keyhole Walk when you’re high on a hill you can see Chevening House off in the distance through a gap in the trees, framed like a picture.
