Kentish Pip cider. Delicious, local and you can stay there too - you're welcome!
Preconceptions be gone! Cider is THE new drink for the young and hip (so we are told by our young and hip friends!). We are lucky enough to have discovered local supplier Kentish Pip Cider and their fabulous range of award-winning, distinctive East of England ciders. Based on Woolton Farm near Canterbury, Pip Cider uses the best ingredients, innovation, style and a pinch of tradition to create their ciders.
The core range consists of six different ciders, plus a small selection of limited editions released throughout the year. If you like a dry cider, try ‘Dappler’, a vivid and complex weave of wild and fresh apple or try zingy ‘Wild Summer’, a crisp apple cider bursting with handpicked elderflower.
Kentish Pip was conceived in 2012 by Mark Mount, who milled and pressed the apples by hand in his garden. Working with his wife Rosie, they developed the original range from extensive trials and old family recipes, such as hedgerow jelly and elderflower cordial. Made in single small batches that are individually crafted and tasted, this delicious Kentish cider is blended using their own selection of dessert and cooking apples as well as traditional cider apples.
Kentish Pip has come a long way since the early days. With distinctive and funky packaging, the cider is now available as far away as Hong Kong and produced in cans, bottles, kegs and bag boxes and is even an M&S approved producer.
For the full cider experience (hic!) why not visit Woolton Farm? There is a shop and cider garden to stroll around, or sit and drink in the sun, plus open days and private tours. You could even make a weekend of it and stay at Woolton Farm in one of three holiday cottages or book a bell tent in The Barn Garden.
