With strong roots, both here in the garden of England and the island of Ischia in Italy, Macknade is on a mission to bring producers, suppliers and consumers closer together in true community spirit.

The Kentish-Italian business has been in the same family for six generations and in 1979 they began retailing – opening Macknade Farm Shop, which later became Macknade’s famous Faversham Food Hall. What started life as a tent in a field on the family farm is now a 10,000sqft food hall, delicatessen, butcher, café and kitchen, well renowned locally for its quality and range of produce.

In Spring 2020, Macknade opened its second store in nearby Ashford, offering an all-day dining and shopping experience at Elwick Place, on the site of the old cattle market. Macknade Ashford is open every day, where guests can shop or sample from a menu of Kentish-Mediterranean inspired dishes and drinks from the bar.
