Samsara

Muddy says: A magical retreat, located deep in the Kentish countryside, built with your relaxation at the forefront of their minds. A big hellllllo (and exhale of air) to Samsara – the place in Kent to go to unwind and reconnect with yourself

There’s boutique B&B’s and then there are boutique B&B’s with a real heart and a difference and this is what Samsara is all about. Located deep in the Kentish countryside, Samsara is the place to go and take a moment away from your daily life and immerse yourself in yoga sessions, meditation, sumptuous beds, woodland walks and home-cooked food; be it solo, as a couple or with good friends.

Now we have your full attention, let me elaborate further. Samsara is the home of couple; Lori, a talented gardener and Dipu, who studied Yoga in a Gurukula system and developed a strong foundation deeply rooted in a Vedic tradition. Together they wanted  to create a space that offered people a chance to relax, breathe and connect which lead them to establishing Samsara which is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘the wandering journey, from birth to death, to re-birth’ conveying how this retreat will  help you on your wandering journey to focus on you and your happiness.  And boy, are we happy that they did.

Not only is the setting idyllic – think single-track country lanes with breath-taking views, village cricket, a 10th Century village church and 16th Century pub and micro-brewery, but there is also lots of space (stylishly done) to unwind and nourish your mind, body and soul which is sometimes just the tonic in life.

You can practice yoga outdoors in their spectacular garden (well you would expect that with Lori at the helm) that enjoys both sunrise, sunshine and sunsets or if the weather is not in your favour, there is an indoor yoga studio, set in a traditional oast house,  which is equally heavenly.

If yoga is not your thing, you can indulge in local walks, explore the area or just sink into one of their beds topped with Hungarian goose down duvets, 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen and Tempur mattresses and pillows with a good book and have the king of naps.

Dipu and Lori regularly host workshops (daytime and evening) as well as mini retreats and can create bespoke packages just for you and your friends so Samsara is definitely worth considering for a forthcoming girls’ trip away or you could ditch the mates, and head there with a special someone in your life.
