THE VIBE

A deeply atmospheric 16th-century country inn, set amidst the rolling North Downs that was once frequented by travellers following the Pilgrims Way between London, Canterbury and France. Today’s visitors will find a welcoming pub with excellent cuisine and four eclectic bedrooms.

FOOD & DRINK

There’s a wonderful selection of Pub Classics to enjoy, from Bangers and Mash to ‘The Dirty Dog’ Smoked Frankfurter or a varied Mains Menu that includes Jerusalem Artichoke, Catch of the Day or Stour Valley Venison.

With an extensive list of changing daily specials alongside the set menus, plus a tasty Vegan Menu and brilliant Kids Menu (the Woodfired Pizzas are popular) there’s something to suit all tastes.

Brand new are their weekly themed nights with Pizza on Mondays, Burgers on Tuesdays, Steak night on Wednesdays (£49 for 2 people), Pie & Pint night on Thursdays (£19.50) and Friday Trawler specials – an evening of fantastic locally caught fish and seafood, supplied direct by Folkestone Trawlers, who also supply daily fish to Rocksalt and Little Rock.

GARDEN

Outside you’ll find a gorgeous beer garden, complete with its own garden bar and with regular entertainment and outdoor food events, this is the best place to enjoy a bit of summer sun.

STAY

Despite the sense of blissful isolation, London is only a 35-minute train ride from Ashford International (18 minutes drive away).

Happily, this quintessential English country pub boasts four stunning suites – Ortega, Bacchus, Fuggle and Golding – each named after Kentish hops and grapes and each with their own unique character. Each has been designed to be both striking and luxurious, with copper roll top baths and crisp white sheets.

Plus, there’s a Midweek Retreat room offer – from £169 per couple – that includes a Tuesday-Thursday stay for up to two people in a double room, 3 course meal and cooked breakfast the following morning.
