The Old Bank, Westerham

For fine-dining spoilation and a special meal out look no further than The Old Bank in Westerham!

Weekend Escapes

Situated on the Market Square in bustling Westerham, The Old Bank is the perfect spot for a special occasion dinner or celebratory lunch. Added bonus, there is no need to travel into London! Even if you are not celebrating, do find an excuse to spoil yourself and sample some fine dining, wine or cocktails in uber-stylish surroundings. Chef Adam Turley has a life-long passion for food and a love for fresh, seasonal and regional ingredients.

Adam and his team create contemporary British cuisine, influenced by French techniques. Delicious menus change with the season and to sound a bit Masterchef, the presentation of the dishes is incredible. We love the sound of Romney Salt Marsh lamb or Rye Bay skate and perhaps wrap things up with an almond, Kent honey and chocolate chip soufflé. Don’t mind if I do! The eight course tasting menu and wine pairing also has to be tried. ‘The Vault’ is The Old Bank’s very own wine cellar and offers a fantastic selection of wines from Europe, The Americas and Australasia.

Adam and his wife Emma both grew up in Sevenoaks with long family histories in the area. Adam has always believed that truly understanding his ingredients, knowing what’s in season then sourcing the best quality available, is vital for him to create the food he loves. He also believes in sharing this knowledge with his team, taking his junior chefs to see ingredients at their source and learning how they’re grown, farmed and nurtured.

Adam has impressive Chef credentials. His passion for food began growing up in his parents’ pubs around the Sevenoaks area.  He then spent three years at the Wentworth Golf Club working under Mark Flannagan (now Executive Chef at Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty the Queen).  He then moved to The Waterside Inn, Bray, a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, where he was mentored by worldwide acclaimed chefs Michel Roux Senior and his son Alain. Adam then spent 10 years as Head Chef at Bluebells Restaurant in Sunningdale, claiming numerous accolades and awards.

Another fantastic local business to support. Fine dining at its best and close to home. What’s not to love!
