Like all the Elite pubs The Potting Shed, situated in Langley just south east of Maidstone, is a rather handsome pub with stylish interiors – and down-to-earth, decent pub fare.
It’s USP is the funky grass roof sitting over the entrance and then on the inside the spacious architect-designed, dining room with vaulted wooden clad ceiling, all decorated with gardening tools.
The high ‘A’ frame interior is inspired by Scandinavian architecture and gives a unique open plan feel and lends itself to a party gathering / large family group kind of get together.
This opens out to the beautiful beer garden which boasts an amazing outside space and a great kids play area (let them run free!) as well as a herb and vegetable garden. Out here, in the warmer months, between May and August, you can enjoy delicious, relaxed dining from the brilliant Burger Shack (complete with veggie options).
With seasonal cooking, inspired by the food and flavours provided by local farmers, the menu will suit everyone from Sunday lunchers to vegans and it’s very child-friendly too.
No need to rush home, now there’s six uniquely themed bedrooms, set in the grounds of the pub and just opened (in November 2019). Step out of the everyday and into an immersive eco-haven, with living roofs, solar powered energy and locally sourced food and drink, right on your doorstep.
Perfect for a weekend hideaway or a countryside retreat (less than an hour from London – just sayin’). Here you’re close to true Kentish delights such as Leeds Castle and the North Downs Way, so why not make a weekend of it?
