The Print House, Tenterden
Your next cosy countryside escape! The Print House Inn in Tenterden is a historic 16th-century retreat with boutique rooms, luxury amenities, and pet-friendly stays.

THE LOWDOWN
Nestled in the heart of Tenterden, The Print House Inn is a 16th-century gem that seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary comforts. Formerly known as the William Caxton pub, this establishment underwent a significant transformation under the stewardship of Andrew and Seonaid Dixon, reopening its doors in April 2023 with a fresh identity and ambiance.
The inn’s new name pays homage to William Caxton, who introduced the printing press to England. This rich heritage is thoughtfully reflected throughout the inn, with each of the six boutique bedrooms bearing names associated with the printing trade, such as ‘The Typesetters’ and ‘The Proofing Room’.
DINE
The Printer’s Bar & Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, focusing on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Indulge in British cuisine classics, grazing platters, and a curated selection of wines, beers, gins, and whiskies. The south-facing walled garden provides a serene setting for alfresco dining, making it an ideal spot to unwind.
STAY
Should you wish to stay the night, you’ll find six boutique bedrooms thoughtfully designed offering the perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The Author’s Suite is situated in the oldest part of the 600-year-old building boasting original oak beams, a luxurious king-size bed, cosy wood-burning stove and even a freestanding copper bath. You’ll also find luxurious toiletries from Oast & Rye in every room.
Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in four of its rooms: The Typesetters, Proofing Room, Copywriters, and Bookbinders. For a fee of £15 per stay, your furry friends are treated to beds and food bowls.
EVENTS
There’s always something to look forward to here! The Print House Inn has collaborated with the renowned Chapel Down Vineyard to create unique experiences for guests. Plus there’s jazz Sundays, wine tastings, Ladies Who Lunch Club and a fab TV in the garden which shows most of the sports games.
