The Small Holding
Muddy says: a rustic restaurant that packs a real foodie punch. Table for two, please, and make it snappy!

Just opened this year, The Small Holding Farm and Kitchen offers wonderful home-grown and reared produce, hence the name. It’s run by brothers Will and Matt Devlin from the No Fixed Abode restaurant pop-ups. Will Devlin is one of Kent’s most exciting chefs who you might recognise from Thackerays and The Windmill in Hollingbourne and Matt is a great knowledge on the wine/drink side of the restaurant and will match your food choices with the best wine or craft beer options, dream team!
Situated in one acre of beautiful Kent countryside with growing, foraging and cooking at the heart of its ethos. You’ll find it tucked down a country lane in Kilndown, (between Lamberhurst and Cranbrook). On the former site of The Globe and Rainbow pub it’s off the beaten track yet easy enough to get to, not being far from the A21.
There’s a sunny decked area overlooking the smallholding at the front is perfect for weekend walkers and inside there’s a cosy bar, wooden floorboards and old farm equipment decorating the walls. It makes the perfect date-night option.
