The Vineyard

This local pub is a crowd pleaser for all the family. Loads to love here including pizzas, an amazing garden and a fabulous wine menu. Cheers!

If you’re looking for a relaxed lunch out with the family you can’t go wrong with this friendly, rural pub just off the village green. For sunny days, there’s a terrace overlooking the stonkingly good beer garden.

The garden is complete with play equipment, table tennis and enough room to kick a football – meaning you might get five minutes to enjoy a glass of something cold in the sunshine. Grab a corner garden sofa or sit on one of the dining stools near the outside bar and pretend you’re on holiday.

The Burger Shack (open Fri – Sun and bank holidays) has a separate menu to the main dining area, offering pork, chicken, lamb or 100 percent English beef burgers – or our personal favourite, the veggie chickpea, jackfruit & tahini burgFor chilly days, cosy up on a sofa by the log fire and sample one of the wines from the carefully crafted wine list sourced from boutique family owned wineries from around the world.

There is something for everyone on the main menu. Choose from Moroccan Chicken Thigh kebab, Kentish Game Terrine or we are also dying to try the Artisan wood-fired sourdough pizzas, which are available to takeaway. We like the sound of the Winemaker Fired Up pizza topped with spicy nduja, piri piri chicken, pepper, mozzarella and thyme. Yum!

Should you wish to stay a bit longer than lunch (well twist my arm!) there are four elegant and beautifully designed bedrooms, recently refurbished & housed in the old 13th Century Coach House. These feature quirky details, spiral staircases and gorgeous interiors.

We are loving this family friendly country pub conveniently situated near Kentish delights such as Scotney Castle, Bewl Water and Bedgebury Pinetum.
