Wouldn’t You Though?

I’m a recent convert of The Chapel hair salon (found in Kent in Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks) having heard talk about it for yonks, but only recently trying it out. The philosophy there is very much ‘Me First’ and how when we allow ourselves more time, life becomes a better place and we become a better person to be around too. Making time for yourself is not a selfish act, but an essential act. Always putting others first will not do you or your family any favours in the long run.

This theory comes from Amanda Dicker (she’s impossibly cool, pictured above) the founder of the salon who, after a burn-out two years ago, walked away from everything to reassess her life. Now she’s back and hopes to reach out and inspire others to get their life back on track.

Amanda has just launched her first luxury home & beauty range that reflects this philosophy. Each of the candles reflects nature and a different time and mood in the day.  Oparus/morning – birds and pocket watch (time); Mellifera/afternoon – bumble bees (to be); Noctula/evening – owl (wise).

Candles are her favourite home accessory and she hopes others will be encouraged to take a little pause in their day to light them, enjoy their fragrance and clear their mind if only for a small moment.  The range also includes hand cream and pulse point fragrance.

They would make a perfect gift (to yourself of course – have you been paying attention?) The packaging reflects the look and vibe of the salon – funky, luxury. Hand creams cost £22, Eau du Toilette £28 and Scented Candles £65.

They smell as good as they look. And you’re the first to know about them as they’ve only just launched and can be purchased here or in store. Happy Valentine’s Day to meeee.
