Thank you for sharing this concern! We definitely don&#8217;t want that. I know garden mirror experts can advise on the placement and height of mirrors to avoid this happening &#8211; close to ground level I have heard is best. x

All garden mirrors are confusing and dangerous for birds, who will fly into them at full speed believing it to be open space. This can cause serious injury.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the finest garden of them all? Well, if you&#8217;re embracing the growing trend for gorgeous looking garden mirrors then it could well be you (and I&#8217;m so verrry jealous &#8211; just call me Charlize&nbsp;Theron).

1. Think about what will be reflecting &#8211; don&#8217;t place your mirror opposite a wall with drain pipes or rubbish bins.

2. Aim for reflecting the leafy or floral interest in your garden.

3. Don’t place mirrors too high up or anywhere they are likely to impact bird flight.

4. Go for quality, specialist garden mirrors, like the rustic heritage pieces from Aldgate Home &#8211; and avoid faux, cheaper versions (you don’t want your garden to look like a child’s soft play area).

5. Don’t use mirrors in hot countries, and be especially careful to check where they are reflecting in the summer (even in the UK) so that they do not become a fire hazard.
