Now this one’s a little bit different and I think it might just fox you yet. Rather than being the kind of rural retreat that so often graces this spot what we have here is a total tease of a townhouse. I mean, there’s still a lot of house here, and some wonderful outdoor space, but it’s all wrapped up rather fabulousy in a highly convenient Tonbridge location. Oooh, interesting.
Anyway, a bit more about the locality – Tonbridge town centre is just a mere half mile away – think Waitrose and the Old Fire Station foodie pop ups. And you’re about equidistant in either direction for Sevenoaks (to the north) and Tunbridge Wells (to the south). Or London Charing Cross is about 45 mins by train. Shoptastic.
Time for a bit more house. It’s set over three floors and definitely has elegance stamped all over it’s high ceilings, sash windows and sweeping stair cases. Let’s start with the ground floor…
Isn’t this drawing room, above, gorgeous?! Pets and children will need some serious ground rules before entering. Or they can be kept to this less formal sitting room space, below.
Loads of classic period features of the popular Victorian and Edwardian eras, this semi-detached townhouse offers 5 bedrooms (4 good sized doubles), 2 reception rooms and a fabulous kitchen/dining room for drinks party discos.
It’s all beautifully presented, from the roll-top bath to authentic fireplaces. And outside there’s an immaculate rear garden which includes a side walled courtyard area with access from the sitting room French doors and utility room. This continues around to the back of the house where steps lead up to a paved dining and barbeque terrace. There’s even a workshop outbuilding. Have a little wander and I’ll see you in a minute…
And let’s not forget the wealth of highly sought after schools on your doorstep, including Weald of Kent Girls Grammar School and The Judd Grammar Schools for boys. Tonbridge Boys Grammar is at the north end of the High Street and The Schools at Somerhill, Hilden Grange & Hilden Oaks Preparatory Schools are on the outskirts of the town.
At how much? I hear you cry. Oh come now, you have to guess the price, that’s the fun! Ready to guess? No cheating, now…. Get a number in your head and click here to find out.
