Property Flirt

Shall we celebrate spring and all this glorious spring weather with a goosey gander around a gorgeous family home (aka poking our nose into someone else’s property). Yes, I think so too. We’re sashaying over to Sevenoaks for this month’s Property Flirt, and Pigeons Green is a gorgeous reason to do just that. And, yes, that is it’s real name.

Usual rules apply – look at the pics and description, guess the price, put your answer in the comments box below and the winner gets a romantic break with Tom Hiddleston in the Bahamas. Er, ok, maybe not. But you’ll have the glory of being right!

What we have here is A handsome detached, Grade II listed building set in stunning gardens — it’s a winner inside and out… It boasts 5 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms in the main house. And then a living room, kitchen and 2 double bedrooms in the cottage. Location wise, you’re nestled perfectly by the pretty rural village of St Mary’s Platt, with its nineteenth century Church, a primary school and a local pub. It’s also home to Great Comp Garden, a beautiful and quirky garden and tearooms.

Pigeons Green is located on the fringe of the village, in a Conservation area, with a small enclave of period properties around a triangular green, forming a quiet little rural community. You’ve got Sevenoaks nearby (about 7 miles away) and Borough Green is just a stone’s throw away giving you a direct train line to London in about 45 minutes. Let’s see it, shall we?

There’s a main house is set over three floors, with a cellar and a separate cottage for housing relatives or all your friends after one of your legendary all-night parties.

The property was considerably damaged by a World War II bomb and was effectively rebuilt, explaining why the rooms enjoy such unusually good ceiling heights for a house of this age. It has also subsequently been extended twice. All this (between the two properties) adds up to well over a whopping 4,000 square feet to waft around in. That’s a nice, big hint price-wise.

As mentioned, in addition to the main house the property benefits from a substantial detached cottage, above. It’s also listed as Grade II, and has been partially converted into an attractive self-contained Cottage. Sooooo much potential…

And the outside is just as lovely, with beautifully landscaped gardens and plenty of pockets of space to sit and soak up the sun’s rays (a considerable amount of space when you consider how close you are to London). This house is screaming parties and entertaining at me.

Just time to mention the outdoor heated swimming pool. But of course. You’ve got pool parties planned for the summer months, if I know you.

She’s a peach with bags of potential, that’s for sure. But how much do you think she’s on the market for?  How many chocolate buttons will you have to give up in order to put in an offer?  Check if you’re right here.  And let me know how close you got!
