Property Flirt

Look at the handsome face of 5-bed Shipbourne House! Niiiice. Wanna guess the price?!

Please smile coquettishly and/or doff your hat at Shipbourne House, a handsome Grade II listed country dwelling with beautiful gardens overlooking Shipbourne Common. Being a former village bakery and post office – this updated property still has bags of character and period features. But don’t take my word for it! Play the game and guess the price – no cheatypoos – wait until the end. Eye away from the keyhole – we’re going in!

So, what we have here is, as well as five-bedrooms the home has – deep breath –Drawing Room, Music Room, Dining Room, superb kitchen/Breakfast Room, utility room, cellar, beautiful secluded rear garden and useful detached home office/store. It’s all high ceilings and space, charm and style. Here, sneak a peak…

See oodles of space and character – the old post box, is still set into the wall of the Drawing Room and the vaulted kitchen, located in the old bakery, still has the original chimney breast although it’s been significantly enhanced with underfloor heated limestone flooring and al the latest mod-cons.

As if all this wasn’t’ enough, planning permission and listed building consent has been obtained to add a pantry and lobby/mud room on either side of the kitchen and to add bi-folding doors out to the side terrace.

But how much? Well here’s a clue, if you don’t know Shipbourne, it’s one of those real gems – a picturesque village that’s also wonderfully well situated – nestled conveniently on the road joining the towns of Tonbridge and Sevenoaks and so perfectly placed to take advantage of their outstanding schools (both independent, state and grammar) and shops.

Not only that, but actually within the village the house has a great outlook over Shipbourne Common to the front, with front garden, driveway and verge between the house and the road. It’s right next door to the well-regarded Chaser Inn and the brilliant Shipbourne farmer’s market which takes place every Thursday morning at the Church a few hundred metres away. Then just a little further afield you’ve got beautiful countryside and historic places of interest including Ightham Mote and Knole Park. Niiiiiice.

So, fellow nosey parkers – how much do you think it’s on for then? Find out here, while I adjourn to a sun-lounger and supervise my new crack team of gardeners.

Wow that’s lovely, but being right next the pub is not a plus to me!! I would go for £1.2 million although that is probably rather generous

      Ooo, you’re close Caroline… and I don’t know – my house is almost next to a pub – it’s quite handy! 😉
