Property Flirt

It’s the latest in our popular new section, Property Perv, uh, I mean Flirt. The perfect excuse to ogle other people’s amazing houses, peer through the keyhole and see if you can guess how much this piece of prime property is worth.

Take a look at the pics below, and my little snippets about the property along the way, then click on the link at the end to reveal the price and see how close you got. Are you game? Come on then, let’s take a stroll…

Okay so let’s get our bearings. So, South West of Tunbridge Wells, a little on past Groombridge – but not as far as Crowborough – sits the village of Withyham. And there, perched in the pretty countryside, sits this stunning Grade II listed Medieval Farmhouse with wonderful views over the surrounding Medway Valley. Drive down the track until you reach the electronically operated five bar gate and park up in the gravelled driveway. We’ve been expecting you.

So what to tell you? Well it has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms a drawing room, family room, kitchen/dining room, laundry/cloackroom and a garden room/conservatory. There’s even an ante room, which I believe is like a reception room for bedrooms, (I have one at Muddy HQ you see *cough* of course…) And there’s out-buildings a-plenty, including a former oast house/barn, garage block, summer house and a six-bay barn building. Surely that enough to accommodate all your lascivious extended husband-swapping parties…

OK, let’s be having the last few views and clues. So the farmhouse is thought to date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. It’s got oodles of gorgeous period features, such as inglenook fireplaces and exposed beams. As well as all substantial barn, annexe and garden outbuildings there’s two cellar rooms – so one for storing the vintage wine and one for locking up the children when they’re naughty. (Oh, I’m joking of course. Vintage wine is for drinking not locking up in cellars!)

The property is in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – so a real rural retreat – and yet only an hour by train from nearby Eridge Station to London Victoria. Step outside, inhale deeply and suck in that fresh country air. Now come join me in the decently-sized summer house (below) for a vodka and tonic while we get a figure in mind (no cheating). Come on, focus now (bend a few spoons) and see if you’ve guessed the price. Bon chance!

I guessed way too high! I thought it would be a lot more especially as it has quite a bit of ground

I know – that one was a bit of a tricky one wasn’t it? Just goes to show the difference in price according to postcode as well. Perhaps this one was a bit more rural… Almost within our reach – we just need that winning scratch card – LOL! Thanks for playing Caroline! xA
