Is there anything more fun than peering around other people's houses, imagining yourself in situ and guessing the price? Er, nope! Let the nosiness commence.

Don’t know about you, but I love a little snoop around someone else’s house. So let’s all push our noses up to the windows, peer in the cupboards, knock a few walls knowledgeably, and then the fun bit – guess how much it’s worth!

Today’s house of dreams is a recently built five-bedroom, six-bathroom elegantly detached family home on Ashgrove Road, (only about a mile from Sevenoaks town centre and about 1.6 miles from Sevenoaks station).

For anyone that doesn’t know Sevenoaks it’s just superbly placed for state, grammar and private schools. Sevenoaks mainline rail station offers fast and frequent services to London Charing Cross (via London Bridge and Waterloo East) and Cannon Street in about 32 minutes. Aaaand it offers a good range of shopping and leisure facilities. Tunbridge Wells and Bluewater shopping centres are also within 20 miles (priorities, people!).

So let’s take a tour. Starting with this superb open plan kitchen/breakfast/family room (see pic above) with roof light and bi-fold doors to the south-facing terrace/garden (see pic below). Or put it another way – it has PARTY! written all over it.

Better than that, concealed sliding doors can be closed or opened to integrate or separate the formal dining room (see below) from the kitchen… What a cool design feature.

Now on to the stunning sitting room (pictured below). Plenty of space to relax with your G&T as you watch Homes Under the Hammer (oh, just me?).

Completed in 2013, Austen House is a handsome, traditionally designed – part brick, part tile hung – house with oak framed projecting gable. The rooms are so light and spacious – just like this rather splendid Entrance Hall (pictured above). Which will take us nicely to the stairs and bedrooms beyond…

And when we say 5-bedrooms – that’s 5 double bedrroms. And they all have en suite bath or shower rooms. Fancy! (Just one such example pictured, below).

Oh and there’s a Study – complete with fitted workstation, cupboards and drawers…

The south facing garden is mainly lawn with Indian stone terrace, colourful planted borders and a green house. A decent amount of outside space for such a prime town-based property in this super-sought-after pocket of Kent.
