Welcome to the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016!

Muddy Stilettos Kent is all about finding the most unique, exciting, brilliant businesses in the area, so it makes sense to celebrate the best in the Muddy Stilettos Awards.

We love our indie shops and services for their uniqueness, and my Awards offer the chance to say thank you the inventive businesses keeping our high streets alive.

This is your chance to give these plucky local businesses your support and a much-deserved pat on the back. And if you happen to be one of the businesses nominated, this is your opportunity to gain huge amounts of publicity – for FREE! – plus the accolade of being a Muddy Stilettos Award winner.

The initial nominations run from Weds 4 May until Weds 25 May. The 5 businesses from each category with the most votes will go through to the Final (Tues 7 – Tues 14 June) where voting will be seen live on the blog.

All about the Awards

The Muddy Stilettos Awards have been running in Bucks & Oxon since 2012 and since 2014 in Hertfordshire and will now run simultaneously across 11 UK counties. Muddy Stilettos is all about quality and curation, so to win a Muddy Award is a real achievement, and importantly gives often overlooked lifestyle businesses much-deserved recognition. Category winners in each county gain a much coveted Muddy Award, exposure on the blog and local press, a massive love hug from thousands of readers and a rather boozy drinks party, HUZZAH!

It doesn’t cost businesses a penny to enter the Awards, it’s superfast and easy for readers to vote and the finals are seen live on the blog with natty cocktail glasses and their moving percentages (if you thought Peter Snow’s Swingometer was impressive, you just wait). So (to channel singer Hot Chocolate) everyone’s a winner baby, that’s the truth!

There are 30 categories this year and as YOU dear reader will be wanting to nominate your faves, here is the full list:

See all the categories here.

Pleasy pleasy please get behind the businesses that make a difference to your life, and make sure any of your friends or colleagues who are eligible to enter know about the Muddy Awards and VOTE NOW! In the initial round of voting, businesses can nominate themselves, and the Top 5 from each category will reach the Finals.

Commit these all-important dates to memory (there will be a test later) and start spreading the word!

4 May – voting now open
4-25 May – first round of voting
7-14 June – second (and final) round of voting
w/c 13 June (date tbc) – winners’ awards and fizz

I want to recommend Oliver Kelly of Oliver Kelly Fitness for keeping me away from decrepitude. He appears on time, is always charming and cheerful, and runs through his exercise regime for me with just enough, but not too much stress. The latter is important because I am past 80!

    He has my enthusiastic recommendation.

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic recommendation of Oliver Kelly for Best Fitness Instructor in Kent category. I will add in your vote! The best exercise should always be tailored to fit the individual whether we’re 80 or 40 years old (in my case loooooong recovery periods in between…!) so Oliver sounds great.
