Westerham Fine Food & Drink Festival, Sat 17 June
The way to a man’s heart, and all that. Lead him into Father’s Day with this great free food festival. Showcasing some of the best local produce available, there’s over 30 stalls including a range of street food, produce stalls, offering wares from meat and cheese, to fruit, vegetables, oils, bespoke conserves, sauces and drinkies of course.
Salomons Estate, Sun June 18, Royal Tunbridge Wells
Save Dad being stuck behind the BBQ all day, head down to Solomans Estate and enjoy a beer and barbecue on the terrace listening to live music, near Southborough this Sunday. There will be a mini beer festival – and Dad’s first pint is free – followed by a burger or hog roast. Don’t miss the lawn games, a penalty shoot-out, or archery, plus a bouncy castle for the children, from noon and 4pm.
Super Cars at Hever Castle, Sat 17th Jun – Sun 18th June
Presented in partnership with the Henry Surtees Foundation (founded by motor sport legend John Surtees CBE, following the tragic death of his son Henry, killed aged just 18 years old) there will be classic cars on display as well as fun activities for the kids. Children can colour and decorate a card for their Dad (phew – I never remember to buy one!) in a free craft workshop and test out the kart simulator for a race around Buckmore Park with an extra incentive of a prize for the fastest lap* (*small donation required).
Father’s Day Sunday Roast, Leeds Castle, Sat 18 June
It may be Dad’s special day but that doesn’t have to mean you’re left slaving over a hot oven all morning. We’ve got your back. Leeds Castle are offering a delicious family roast this Father’s Day, with a bottle of Spitfire Ale For Dad thrown in. Served in their Fairfax Restaurant from 12pm to 3pm. Castle View Restaurant from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Booking is required so scramble for the phone quick.
Spa Valley Railway, Sun 18 June
Enjoy a ham or cheese ploughman’s lunch On Father’s Day while travelling on selected services from the Spa Valley Railway Tunbridge Wells West station. Advanced booking is needed for the ploughman’s service and any special dietary requirements need to be requested when booking. Lunch and all day unlimited travel is £22.

If Dad or your mudlets are history fans they can enjoy this day out and experience what life would have been like in the Roman army during the invasion of Britain in 43AD. Let the kids create an impenetrable Roman-style shield formation with the Hands on History workshop team, who will be testing your war protection with a foam spear or two as you march to victory!
