BOOK NOW! Black Deer Festival

Yeehaw! One of our fave summer events is back! The UK’s only Americana and country music festival is happenin' this June - just outside Tunbridge Wells. Don't miss this!

Waiting for you at Eridge Park (one of Britain’s oldest deer parks) are stunning views of rolling hills, open lakes and ancient woodland – which together, provide one of the most breathtakingly beautiful, natural settings for a weekend of outdoor live music.

It’s the perfect setting for immersing yourself in a weekend world of Americana. Experience the best of a bygone rural era made relevant right now, through wholesome food & drink, artisan wares and custom built motorcycles – just some of the things, sitting alongside the music, paying homage to the cultural heritage of America. It truly is a festival experience not to be missed.

Black Deer Festival will take place on Fri 17, Sat 18 & Sun 19 June 2022 in Eridge Park, Britain’s oldest deer park, on the Kent/East Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells (just 50 minutes by train from London to nearby Tunbridge Wells station).

To sum it up this festival celebrates the best of a bygone rural age and way of life. It’s all about enjoying the simplicity of the natural world around us – think ‘authentic’ and ‘returning to our roots’.

The festival will have sections dedicated to music (read more on the band line-up below); food (think classic American smokehouse BBQ, oh and whiskey); motors (showcasing all the best mean machines from classic American trucks to custom vintage motorcycles); traders (get loads of Black Deer Mercantile offering authentic wares from quality textiles and original printed posters to handmade surfboards and banjos) and young folk (there’ll be loads of children’s activities as it’s a family friendly affair).

Enjoy food from their many street food vans where you can enjoy ribs, pulled meats, brisket, rotisserie chicken, smoky scents and sweet sauces. Plus coal-roasted aubergine, cheese stuffed Jalapeños and charred corn tacos – proves that smokehouse cooking doesn’t need to be all about the meat!

If you want to see how it’s done, don’t miss the expert demos from craftsmen and industry leading chefs at the Live Fire Demo Stage with plenty of seating and a well stocked bar – view the line-up here.

Watch demos on foraging, butchery and knife-making from master craftsmen through to the very best authentic low ‘n’ slow Amercian BBQ and live-fire cooking from industry leading chefs. As the sun sets, the demo stage turns to a music stage with live blues, slide guitars and DJ sets.

Not forgetting The Gospel Brunch, Black Deer Sunday isn’t a day of rest but a day for great food and righteous music!

Or for VIP luxury treatment, head down to The Jackson Social Members’ Club which is an exclusive sanctuary from where you can enjoy the Americana world in true style and comfort. Detailed styling, comfy seating, and luxury loos await – as well as intimate artist performances, late night DJ’s, and delicious bites served from the kitchen bar.

2022 has a stellar lineup of established and new Americana, country, blues, folk and bluegrass artists. Latest additions include personal faves (Oh, sit down) James, Van Morrison, Jake Bugg, Imelda May, Wilco, The Waterboys, Grammy-nominated Nashville star Cam and oh so much more! There’s heaps of acts to enjoy and discover, with more than 100 across 6 stages in fact.

At Black Deer you’ll discover a festival within a festival – one in which the young take centre stage. In this land of theirs, there’s fun to be found at every turn. With the emphasis being on giving them endless opportunities to explore. Whether that’s through music, craft, or the great outdoors.
There’s an exciting range of activities available for your Young Folk at Black Deer Festival 2022, these include:

Woodland Tribe (masters of constructive play), tree climbing and zip wire, slacklining, a climbing wall, customise your own t-shirt, bags or bandanas with Art Moves, music workshops, clay model making, wood whittling, haha zome printing with Forest Jack, skate boarding workshops, Silent Discos, a deer hunt, Dan the Hat comedian and juggler plus Freckles Craft Space where you can create flower crown’s to crystal headbands and fun with foam clay creations.

They’ll never be bored!

For those of you looking to unleash your nocturnal side in the deer park this summer, you’re in luck. The Roadhouse, Haley’s Bar and Jackson Social Members’ Club are the after-hours venues of choice, where DJ’s play the perfect late-night soundtrack, and where impromptu happenings, gatherings and storytelling, make the nights just as memorable as the days…

Nestled away in a private part of our Americana playground, Fancy Camping offers an incredible range of bespoke, high-quality sumptuous accommodation options – creating a weekend escape that’s more of a pop-up hotel experience than festival stay.

Take advantage of exclusive facilities, including a 24-hour concierge service, premium toilet, shower and pampering facilities, and an exclusive lounge to relax and unwind in with a bar serving throughout the day and late into the night.

Or bring your own tent and pitch up!
