Adolescence, Netflix, Thu 13 Mar

Nail-biter incoming! We’ve said it time and again, if Stephen Graham is in it, we’re watching! In Adolescence he’s teamed up with Top Boy Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty and writer Jack Thorne, for this atmospheric, psychological drama which explores the fallout when a teenage boy is arrested for the murder of a fellow student. Like Graham’s Boiling Point, each episode is filmed in one continuous shot offering an unflinching look into those directly affected by the tragic events. Wowza.

Belgravia: The Next Chapter, ITVX, out now

It’s been a minute since we’ve had some pearl-clutching regency action which is why we’re welcoming Belgravia: The Next Chapter with open arms. Dubbed a mix between Downton Abbey and Bridgerton, this new series is set 30 years after the events of the original, and centres on the romance between Frederick Trenchard (Benjamin Wainwright) and Clara Dunn (Harriet Slater). It maybe a new chapter, but don’t for one sec think the secrets and scandals of Julian Fellowes’ original won’t be following these two star-crossed lovers, making it a must-watch for fans old and new.

Ten Pound Poms, BBC One, out now

Ten Pound Poms is back, baby, ticking the top notch family viewing box this week. After a disastrous first year in Australia, our desperate Brits (Michelle Keegan, Warren Brown, Faye Marsay, Rob Collins, Leon Ford, Emma Hamilton) vow to make the land down under their home. That’s the spirit! Created by the BAFTA-winning, Danny Brocklehurst, it’s a nice and easy breezy watch.

The Wheel of Time, Prime Video, Thu 13 Mar

Buckle up fantasy fans, Rosamund Pike, Marcus Rutherford, Josha Stradowski, Kate Fleetwood and Madeleine Madden are back for a third spin of The Wheel of Time. Based on Robert Jordan’s fantastical novel series, this season picks up where season two left us, with sorceress Moiraine Damodred (Pike) guiding her band of protégés in a quest against the Dark. It’s big, it’s bold and remains a huge rival to Game Of Thrones.

Dope Thief, Apple TV+, Fri 14 Mar

Dennis Tafoya’s 2009 novel, Dope Thief, is such good TV fodder it’s surprising it has taken this long for an adaptation. It follows two crooks, played by the superb Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura, who quickly get in over their heads after posing as drug enforcement agents in order to rob local drug dealers. Top all this off with Ridley Scott and Peter Craig on producing duties, and you have yourselves a winner of a watch.

The Electric State, Netflix, Fri 14 Mar

With Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Ke Huy Quan and Giancarlo Esposito starring in person, plus Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo and Alan Tudyk lending their voices to various characters, the Russo Bros latest blockbuster is a celeb fest! A crazy, retro yet futuristic, adventure movie, The Electric State follows orphan Michelle (Brown) as she traverses the American West in search of her missing brother. It’s pretty out there but worth watching for Pratt, who plays this eccentric drifter, and (of course) Brown.
