Ghana Supper Clubs, Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge, Fri 12 – Sat 13 April 

If you love meeting new people, experiencing new flavours and generally having a good time then you really need to be at one of Ghana Supper Clubs amazing evenings. Twice monthly Tunbridge Wells based Ghanaian Supper Club bringing Ghanaian flavours, music and spice to the area. The run at their homes in St James Park or at The Bicycle Bakery in Tunbridge Wells or The Plough in Ivy Hatch or at The Old Fire Station in Tonbridge. I’ve seen pictures of their sample menu and I’m already salivating! Plus it’s all Vegan and Veggie friendly so suitable for just about everyone. This April they’ll be at the Old Fire Station Fri 5 – Sat 6 April and at The Bicycle Bakery Fri 12 – Sat 13 April. Very few places remaining! 

Anthropologie Opening in Tunbridge Wells, Fri 12 & Sat 13 Apr

One of our fave stores, Anthropologie, is opening in Tunbridge Wells – at the bottom of the High Street, in the store that was once Cath Kidston. It will be offering the usual unique collection of women’s clothing, accessories, home décor, furniture, beauty and gifts that we’ve come to expect from the brand. But Muddy has EXCLUSIVE inside info on the opening events. On Friday 12 Apr raise a toast with botanical G&Ts from Dunnet Bay Distillers (1-6pm). On Saturday 13 Apr (10.30am-4pm) bring your doggie to sit for a portrait by British artist and Anthropologie collaborator, Sally Muir (her pup portraits are usually worth between £300 – £2,000!) On the Friday, from 9.30am, the store will be giving away FREE GOODIE bags to the first 50 through the door (sharpen elbows). Stampede!

The Jungle Book, Theatre Royal Margate, Sat 13 – Sun 14 April

From the producers of the smash hit UK tour of Alice in Wonderland, Wicked Productions in association with Jordan Productions present a brand-new hilarious family production of The Jungle Book. With brand new songs, creative staging and bags full of fun, why not bring your cheeky little monkeys to laugh like a pack of hyenas when The Jungle Book swings into town!

Adventure Golf and New Playground Opening with Ben Cajee, Leeds Castle, Sat 13 April 

Children’s TV presenter Ben Cajee from CBeebies will open two fantastic new family attractions at Leeds Castle! They’re opening a brand new Knights’ Stronghold Playground which will have a wooden replica of Leeds Castle with spiralling slides, fireman’s poles, giant cargo nets and zip wires. This accessible playground, is designed for ages up to 14 and will include a new shop and seating areas for parents to watch their children play in a safe and fun environment. Plus Leeds Castle will be opening their very own adventure golf course! Opening begins at 12pm so arrive early to be one of the first to explore the new attractions and get a selfie with Ben. 

Spring Stroll, Penshurst Place, Sun 14 April

Enjoy a springtime stroll through the vibrant parkland with General Manager, Ben Thomas and discover the history of Penshurst Place and the variety of wildlife living within the grounds, followed by a delicious two-course roast lunch in the Garden Restaurant. Tickets are only £30! Which includes the house and gardens access plus your roast. Book now!

On The Basis of Sex, Trinity Theatre, Sun 14 April

The true story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Felicity Jones), her struggles for equal rights, and the early cases of an historic career that lead to her nomination and confirmation as US Supreme Court Associate Justice. On The Basis of Sex will be showing at Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells for one night only! Have a drink in the bar and escape the crowds.


BFI & Radio Times Television Festival, London, Fri 12 – Sun 14 Apr 

Forget trashy telly (Love Island I’m looking at you), there are some mega Brit TV celebs attending this. The British Film Institute and Radio Times team up for the largest television festival in the UK with talks from the likes of Joanna Lumley, Jamie Oliver, Big Narstie (ask your teens), Suranne Jones and Dame Helen Mirren. You’ll also get an insight into what goes on behind the silver screen with The Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio (we couldn’t get enough of this in Muddy HQ), Derry Girls doyenne Lisa McGee and more, as well as loads of showings from the BFI archives. There’s a young adult programme too (for 16 – 25 year olds) all at £5, including a Q&A with the cast of BBC 3’s university drama Clique. Full programme here.
