COMING SOON: Love Café, Margate
The Libertines’ band member Carl Barât (co-frontman alongside Pete Doherty) and chef Gizzi Erskine are to open a café in Margate this summer.
The venue, named Love Café, will overlook the seafront and is billed as a food and music venue with ‘community at its heart’.
The Love Café, set to open later this month, will function both as a café and an arts and music venue. We can expect a British seaside deli-style cafe and restaurant offering an all-day menu using local producers including Curve Roasters, Staple Stores and The Goods Shed.
Then the night will bring a bar vibe with sundowners and great DJs! According to foodie force Erskine: ‘think big breakfasts with stonkingly good produce, roast carver style hot deli sandwiches and big plates of really great things like chicken and chips’. We’re excited!
CELEB SPOTTING: Jack Whitehall at The Crescent Turner Hotel, Whitstable
Jack Whitehall spotted in Whitstable! Seen walking his dog along the beach he also visited one of Muddy’s fave eateries, The Crescent Turner hotel, and posted to his story earlier this month, sharing the views as he ate lunch. Muddy was there this weekend for a birthday celebration and can confirm it’s quite possibly Kent’s best spot for a seaview sundowner. Want to know where else is good to eat in Whitstable? ART: ‘Under The Rainbow’ Exhibition, Bluewater, 27 Sep – 1 Nov 2021
An exciting non-profit exhibition of uplifting art is coming to Bluewater this September, showcasing art work in a range of mediums from artists across the South East. Founder Ewa Page (pictured), a Bluewater restaurant manager and artist, knows how many artists had struggled during lockdown, unable to exhibit their work due to COVID-19 restrictions. Plus art had helped sustain their mental wellbeing during what’s been a really difficult time. So the idea of holding an exhibition promoting an inclusive, uplifting and joyful vibe to celebrate community, mindfulness and kindness was born! Pop along to Under The Rainbow Exhibition from the end of September, the event will be free to visit from 11am – 6pm and all the art will be for sale.
