Black Deer Festival, Fri 25 – Sun 27 June 2021

For the third year running, the UK’s only Americana and country music festival is back. It promises once again to be all kinds of swing jive and Texas Two Stepping cool. Black Deer will take place on this June in Eridge Park, Britain’s oldest deer park.

This family-friendly festival celebrates the best of a bygone rural age and way of life, it has sections dedicated to music; food (think classic American smokehouse BBQ); motors (showcasing all the best mean machines from classic American trucks to custom vintage motorcycles); traders (get loads of Black Deer Mercantile offering authentic wares from quality textiles and original printed posters to handmade surfboards and banjos) and plenty of fun for the young folk! (lots of fun children’s activities here).

This year features a  stellar lineup of established and new Americana, country, blues, folk and bluegrass artists. Latest additions include personal faves Jake Bugg, Jade Bird, Van Morrison, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and oh so much more! There’s heaps of acts to enjoy and discover, with more than 100 across 6 stages in fact.

Wealden Literary Festival, Sat 26 – Sun 27 June 2021

Experience a magical weekend at the Wealden Literary Festival, a family-friendly weekend of nature, creativity and outdoor adventures in Woodchurch. The line-up features award-winning nature writers, authors and conservationists including Michael Morpurgo, Lara Maiklem, Isabel Thomas, Philip Hoare and there’s a packed children’s programme to inspire younger readers. Gaming & Creative Festival, Historic Dockyard Chatham, Sat 3 – Sun 4 July

The Historic Dockyard Chatham will be hosting the most unique gaming festival the UK has ever seen. Medway Rapture Gaming and Creative Festival will be a weekend of family-festival-fun! In case you haven’t heard of it, Pub in the Park is Michelin-starred chef and TV personality Tom Kerridge’s food and music festival, celebrating the very best culinary delights the country has to offer, combined with great live music, chef demonstrations, top quality shopping and other festival fun.

Jousting Events, Hever Castle, 10 July – 30 Aug

Witness brave knights display spectacular jousting skills in an authentic arena at Hever Castle this summer. Watch exhilarating displays of action, stunts, falls and tights in an arena complete with medieval spectator stands and a Royal Box. Each tournament begins with a procession from the Castle forecourt when Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn lead visitors across the grounds to the Jousting Arena. The Festival Theatre at Hever Castle, Summer Events 2021

For your guaranteed summer of fun, you’ll want to know about The Festival Theatre which is an open air venue set in the gardens of Hever Castle. They plan music acts, operas, films, plays and family shows every year all summer long and this year will be no different!     Hiya you might want to look into Camp Kindling and Camp Wildfire at Eridge Park. Both look phenomenal!
