Number Eight, Sevenoaks, Jan 2022
Listen up! Stuart Gillies, former CEO of Gordon Ramsay Group, is opening a second restaurant and bar in Kent. Have you been to Bank House in Chislehurst? It’s lovely! We’re very excited about Number Eight which will be in a 16th century corner building with a courtyard terrace in Sevenoaks next year. Alongside the private dining space seating up to 16 people, it will also have a space called The Gallery, an area to showcase up-and-coming artists. Oooh we liiike. More info coming soon…
Big Easy, Bluewater, Nov 2021
Barbecue and lobster brand Big Easy will be opening very soon (this month) at Bluewater Shopping Centre – the group’s first location outside of London, well we’re honoured… Situated on the upper level of Bluewater’s Plaza, spread over 2 levels with a live music stage on the mezzanine plus a bar with more than 500 different bourbons, tequilas, whiskeys and separate rum bar. Expect barbecue classics and fresh lobsters, cocktail, beer and wine list, daily bottomless food specials, weekend bottomless brunch and live bands every night. We’re excited!
Crumbs & Treacle, Tunbridge Wells, Open Now
Have you spotted the Crumbs & Treacle pop-up on The Pantiles before? We have! Just opened is their beautiful bake shop on Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells. If you’re in-the-know, you’ll know their cookies and brownies sell-out most weekends so we’re very excited about their permanent base. Our fave is the Biscoff Lotus Cookie. Make sure you pop in and say hello.

As King Henry VIII lays on his death bed, his son Edward is reluctant to face the trials of kingship whilst in Pudding Lane an impoverished Tom Canty dreams of a better life. SPOTTED: The Larkins at The Swan, West Malling
You may know that ITV have been filming a reboot of popular comedy The Darling Buds of May now The Larkins; a six part series starring Bradley Walsh, Joanna Scanlan and Sabrina Bartlett (Bridgerton). Well, there’s plenty of Kent locations that will feature in the TV drama particularly The Swan in West Peckham. The Hare and Hound pub where Pa Larkin drinks is really The Swan in West Peckham.
Look out for The Larkins filming locations like the Walpole Bay Hotel in Margate, Viking Bay in Broadstairs, Faversham, Squerryes Court and Long Barn, Stonepitts Farm, Underriver village and Eynsford’s village green. We can’t wait to watch!
DON’T MISS: Canterbury’s Christmas Light Up Parade, Fri 12 Nov
Head to Canterbury city centre on Fri 12 Nov (6-7pm) to enjoy the launch of this year’s Christmas festivities. There will be a Light Up Parade beginning at 6pm with the illumination of Westgate Towers, and as the parade moves up the high street, the light-up will follow! Led by the fantastic No Limit Street Band with elves, Christmas characters, lanterns and The Marlowe Theatre’s Panto cast members will be following in a a fairy-tale horse drawn carriage. Ending at Rose Ware where you’ll meet KMFM Presenter Garry Wilson for the final selection of lights to be switched on and the festive season to officially begin! Whilst you’re in town, why not pop along to the fantastic Christmas Market? It’s open from 10am-7pm in St Georges Street, Whitefriars and Rose Lane.
BRAND NEW: Castlemas, Tonbridge Castle, Fri 10 – Sun 19 Dec
A FREE, fabulously festive, fun-filled event is coming to Tonbridge this December! Open from the 10-19 Dec, open 10am-11pm every day, Castlemas has everything you need for a festive day-out. The entry is free to The Bandstand where they’ll be live performances, Mistletoe Town (a fabulous range of independent local stalls) and The Jingle Bell Bar. But you’ll need to book tickets to The Igloo Theatre for live entertainment and music for all the family (Dreamboys and Moulin Rouge Cirque is on our list!), visits to Santa’s Grotto and festive workshops such as wreath making with The Bloom Foundry at Santa’s Workshop. Kicking off from Sat 13 Nov, Taco Bill’s will be doing amazing Bottomless Brunches at Alberrys in Canterbury! You won’t wanna miss this! Local potter Kate Monckton Ceramics is coming to Water Lane in November with a pottery workshop. On Thurs 18 Nov create 2 tea cups and a small vase (pictured) using the ‘Kurinuki’ method. It promises to be a fun and informative day, the perfect chance to try something new and create your own piece of pottery.
Kate will be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance and help, there will also be be breaks during the day for mid-morning coffee and lunch. Kate will take your finished pieces away to be fired and glazed, then you’ll be able to return to Water Lane for you to pick up 2 weeks later.
